How long does everyone usually have to wait for a poll to be approved? I never gotten one approved and I get sick of waiting and pull it. Is this normal ?

Does anyone else think it'd be a good idea to have more than one poll running at once? Just an idea to bring the number down a bit.

You know, I guess we have. If I remember well, there were different polls running for different Moby sites. So we could have one for pc.mobygames.com, other for genesis.mobygames.com and so on.

it's because we get more poll submissions then there are weeks in the year... currently I have already have enough approved to last me til Jun

add games or better yet box art scans. they get approved quicker. probably same goes for hints and whatnot.

Most who submit trivia don't submit a source, proof or rationale. And unlike most other queues, it's not platform-specific, so it is very demanding to approve. The same goes for alternate titles.
Be nice to the approvers and always add a source when you submit something.

Did that Shazbut guy send that current featured game in 2006? When you look at his rap sheet, it shows that he has made no contributions in 2007 nor 2008. I just had to look, when my contribution for the featured game has been in pending for 2 months now.

Yeah something like that, I wasn't the one to approve featured games, now I will... I have approved a few already that will run every two weeks... but I don't have that many in the queue so it'll only last til about May... so start contributing some more

Okay, now I see you are deep into occult. If my memory doesn't betray me, "Heosphoros" is the Greek name for Lucifer. As for the first word, did you spell it with a "ü" on purpose? Because if you meant the Greek word for "Lord", it is usually transliterated as "kyrios".
Cool nickname. Wish I would come up with such.

Great job Oleg. Heosphoros is actually the original bible name for dawn-star. And I'm not into occult, i'm just a theology student. It was a little game that we with Gui did. Yes I did ü on purpose, though it's actually the estonian transliteration for kyrios. Can you also trace the historical change of Heosphoros throughout the bible translations?
Edit: The word Heosphoros has a little non-biblical history of it's own, but... telling it would not be as fun.

I think the polls should be approved much faster than they are. I had to change mine to something that wouldn't be dated by the time it was approved. It's nuts.

it doesn't matter how fast they are approved... it's a matter of when they run... I have enough approved and ready to go to last until Jun and there are still a bunch waiting to be approved

Maybe we should run a poll like that:
Are you satisfied with the time it takes from when the polls are submitted up to when they actually run?
Yes - it gives the poll a decent time to run until the next one
Yes - even if I'm not here my grandchildren will let me know how it went
No - it should last less than a week
No - we should have more than one poll running at the same time
No - I may not be a user anymore when the poll I submitted runs
