Many games that try combining two different genres or styles can be described as "Game Series A meets Game Series B". So I had this little idea for a quiz in mind... Can you guess the games?
-
Space Quest meets Final Fantasy=Anachronox (Xenu)
-
Prince of Persia meets Myst= ICO (Kabushi)
-
Shin Megami Tensei meets Silent Hill=Persona (Kabushi)
-
GTA meets Max Payne=Getaway (Luis Silva)
-
Resident Evil meets Fallout=Koudelka (Xenu)
Xenu and Kabushi are tied for the first place. Silver goes to Luis Silva :-)

- is correct!
No, 4. is not Mafia.
And the fifth is a bit tricky, by saying "Fallout" I mean the hardcore turn-based system with action points, not isometric view or setting or anything like that... so think again :)

- Space Quest meets Final Fantasy
Anachronox?
- GTA meets Max Payne
Maybe one of the True Crime games? (Although it's much worse than GTA or Max Payne).
Oh and:
- Final Fantasy meets Zelda = Lufia II (Unicorn Lynx)

Nice guess, but... no. Gorky is not "Resident Evil'ish" enough :)
Think of a real survival horror game in a haunted monastery, but with grid-based combat.

No. LOL, you named so many gangster-based games, but what about the Max Payne part? Hint: the similarity is in the storyline.

Or Bioshock

No, no, and no :-)
Think of it: it is set entirely in an abandoned monastery. Has 3D characters and pre-rendered backgrounds with fixed camera angles. Has plenty of horror. And grid-based combat with action points (so no real-time combat games, please!). Come on, guys, just another effort! :-)

Koudelka?

Bingo!
Good work, Xenu, you've already guessed two of them :-)
Now, will anyone ever guess the mysterious Number 3? Hint: setting, story and atmosphere is like in Silent Hill. Small town where weird things begin to happen, people with deep psychological problems, etc. Combat system is like in SMT games (demon conversations, capturing, fusion, etc.). Any ideas?

No, the battles are in fact more like Fallout, you can move around and you have action points. Also, when leveling up you decide yourself which stat to improve, not like in FF games where everything is automatic.
