Saw that on Kotaku...there's also a knitted Atari and controllers but it's not nearly as attractive!

Damn, the very first idea I had when I started programming (way back in '89) was that I could write a program for stitching and knitting, as it was just like that pixel stuff... Now other people do it. So I'm 18 years ahead of my time ;-)

Hmm. Perhaps I should design some gaming pullover and give it to my Moms. I guess she'd be glad to knit something for her son again :-)

Arguably the first practical application for computer programming was using punch cards to direct power looms and automatic weaving machines. There was just no retro video game culture for them to appropriate in the 1800s 8)

It took William Gibson and Bruce Sterling to draw my attention to it in their joint book the Difference Engine, but it's a central tenet to most steampunk 8)
