"They sexed it up from the PC ver... the map kinda works like a platformer rather than being turn based... it's accidentally the best possible version because of this imo :D believe it has more animated elements as well."

Anyone familiar enough with both flavours of the game to make a ruling?

The Wikpedia page says the Genesis version used real-time battles instead of turnbased as all the other versions. Graphics-wise it is like the Amiga version. It could be enough for a split, if the RTS vs TBS gameplay difference is enough.
