HER INTERACTIVE SHIPS NANCY DREW®: DANGER ON DECEPTION ISLAND

BELLEVUE, Wash., September 30, 2003 - Her Interactive, a developer and publisher of interactive entertainment for mystery fans of all ages, today shipped Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island for the PC. The mystery adventure game gives Nancy a break as she embarks on an action-packed vacation, but she gets more action than she bargained for when she climbs aboard a whale-watching boat that has been vandalized. Fans aged 10 and up take on the role of Nancy Drew to solve the latest mystery in this ninth game of the highly acclaimed Nancy Drew CD-ROM series.

Nancy Drew: Danger on Deception Island is set in the San Juan Islands' town of Snake Horse Harbor. The townspeople are divided over what to do about an orphaned orca whale that has appeared in the channel and decided to stay. They're also on edge due to a series of unsolved burglaries; and now the local whale-watching boat has been sabotaged and a threatening note left for Nancy's host, boat owner Katie Firestone.

Firestone, a biologist, has been vocal about helping the whale, but someone apparently considers it meddling and wants her stopped. Are Katie&'s efforts contributing to the greater good of the town and the orca? Are the burglaries, vandalism and whale debate somehow connected?

As Nancy Drew, players must question Katie and others to root out what and who is behind the disturbing events, including Jenna Deblin, a passionate conservationist who disagrees with Katie's research; aggressive businessman Andy Jason who will stop at nothing to grow his business; and Holt Scotto, a fourth generation fisherman looking to curry favor with the locals as he seeks a public office.

Players will need to solve several mysteries throughout the game and figure out a myriad of puzzles in their search for clues. As they travel through the seaside community of Snake Horse, players will also put the game's GPS tool to use as they travel via kayak into dangerous currents, walk along rocky beaches, navigate around orcas and through the islands surrounded by fog and uncharted sea caves.

As with other Nancy Drew games, players who need tips can tap Nancy's pals, Ned, Bess, George and the Hardy Boys, or visit the online message boards found at www.herinteractive.com to ask for and share information with other Nancy Drew fans.
