Das stets einheitliche Leveldesign ist nicht gerade lobenswert und kleine Fehler stören gelegentlich das Bild – davon abgesehen ist Synthetik aber ein exzellenter Shooter, der mir vor allem das Gefühl gibt mit mächtigen Waffen zu hantieren, anstatt nur ein weiteres „Halte X zum Schießen“ zu spielen. Fürs entspannte Kennenlernen kann man verschiedene Mechaniken zwar abwählen, aber mit allen Feinheiten des aktiven Nachladens, Überhitzens und möglichen Ladehemmungen trumpft der Shooter erst richtig auf. Dann knallt man aggressiven Blechkameraden nicht nur mit satten Kopfschüssen den Zentralprozessor weg, sondern platziert auch Geschütztürme, um die Feinde anschließend zu flankieren, und erstellt mit jedem Run coole Ausrüstungs-Sets mit starken aktiven und passiven Fähigkeiten. (...) Besonders in Sachen Präsentation und Erzählung ist Synthetik also weit weg von einem Hades. Spielerisch steht es den besten Roguelikes allerdings in nichts nach!

Realistic shooting mechanics in a top-down area, enemies whose ferocity scales over time and the anticipation of opening weapon and item chests like a child on Christmas make for a formula experience that is sure to have gamers return frequently.

Aunque está lejos de ser revolucionario, trae suficientes novedades a la fórmula de los shooter con vista superior –todo lo relacionado con una mayor importancia de la táctica- que sin duda merece la atención de los fans del género. El único requisito para disfrutarlo plenamente es tolerar los rogue-lite y aceptar que la frustración es parte de su diseño.

However, these are small issues that wrap around an engaging core. This game should and would stand alongside top-down rogue-lite shooters like Nuclear Throne and Enter the Gungeon if there was any justice in the world. However, it seems more likely that this will remain a counter-culture curio forevermore, and that's a shame, because there's a lot of promise here, and putting enemies down with the game's extensive collection of semi-realistic weaponry remains incredibly satisfying throughout.

SYNTHETIK: Ultimate is a fun, fast-paced twin-stick shooter with a ton of gameplay variety that will keep you busy for hours. Even though the Switch version does fall behind the PC version with missing features and a few minor technical issues. It’s still a perfectly serviceable version I’d recommend if you want some chaotic single player fun.

Jij kiest je klasse (guardian, commando, specialist of rogue) die elk met hun typische voordelen, wapens en wapenupgrades worden geleverd en knalt je alleen of in co-op met een vriend de ziel uit het lijf. Een must voor de genreliefhebbers.
