Monster
- Monster (1995 on Amiga)
Description
Monster is a 2D fighting game. It features a diverse cast of human and anthropomorphic animal characters with a wide variety of unique fighting styles.
In addition to the standard 2D fighting mechanics, it features a unique "shift" system; after choosing a character, the player also chooses one of three unique powerup modes called "monster", "freedom", and "tranquility" which can be activated during battle. Monster reduces the character's speed but increases damage output for a period. Freedom reduces damage but allows the character to freely cancel moves into each other, allowing for a rushdown style of play similar to Street Fighter Alpha III's V-ism. Tranquility is a defensive-oriented mode which improves special moves' invincibility properties. All three shifts will also change the properties of a character's special moves, providing for a variety of play styles.

Trivia
Arcade version
An arcade version titled Monster Ancient Cline was announced in 2008, to be published by Examu for their proprietary eX-BOARD arcade hardware. Following location tests, it was quietly cancelled. It was later announced as an independent PC game in 2012, but this also went unreleased.
