One for 16-Bit Games, The (81 out of 100) (81%)
The gameplay and feel are both identical to the ST version, but the addition of full-colour graphics throughout add an extra element of polish to the presentation.

Prison serves as an excellent introduction to arcade adventures, and the complex puzzles and various sub-games should keep you occupied for some time to come.

Identical in look, feel and play to the Atari version, with the added advantage of only one game disk. Although sound is adequate, the Amiga isn't given the chance to show off its musical prowess, save for a pleasant loading tune.

Another good product for all keen arcade adventurers, this one. The problems are reasonably logical, but do become increasingly obscure as progress is made (especially those dependent upon the time of day!). Mapping is easy enough and the combat, although quite limited, is comfortable and adds further interest to the proceedings.

Prison is a good blend of puzzles and occasional Kung-Fu fighting. Although not startlingly original, it is well done and fun to play.

Looks very similar to the ST, except that the colours are paler and the definition is a little different. The samples and music are of a better quality and add some atmosphere.

Prison is little more than a standard arcade adventure in a tired format so that no amount of fancy graphics and sound can help generate anything but very limited interest.

Once you solve this type of game, there is no great desire ever to go back to it. I'd suggest that its long term appeal is somewhat limited.

Some of the better touches in this game are marred by the gameplay. A little more thought would have raised it about the average. If maze games appeal to you (and they certainly donât to me) this is quite a good one. The puzzles are largely a matter of trial and error rather than brain power and the whole thing could have been made a lot simpler if youâd been given a ball of string.

With good graphics and game mechanics, swift play, and an involving (though silly) story line, Prison is worth looking into... and breaking out of.

I must confess that Prison did not impress me much at first. But the more I played it the more exciting and challenging it became; and being able to pick up from where you left off means that it never really gets boring. In fact, it's getting better and better.
