For some odd reason your bomb count isn't displayed on the screen, and that's irritating because it's hard to remember if you have any left. Since you can't fire backwards, bombs are critical for destroying enemies that approach from behind. One cool feature is how you can augment your firepower by hooking up with smaller helicopters that latch onto you and fire forward or sideways. Once you hook up two of these, you're nearly unstoppable. Tiger-Heli's animation is a little rough, which is probably the reason why no two-player simultaneous mode was included.

The graphics in Tiger-Heli are decent. You could call them three-dimensional because the ground enemies are on a different plane than you. You cannot move three-dimensionally though, but that really isn't necessary for this kind of game. The use of color and many different textures make Tiger-Heli look ahead of its time. The scenery and backgrounds are organic and lifelike, not metallic or mechanical.

Finalement, tout cela est fort classique, et l'historique de la situation n'a que peu d'importance en regard de l'action qui nécessite une certaine pratique si l'on veut profiter pleinement d'une cartouche qui comblera les fanas de la destruction systématique. Mais après tout, on se défoule comme on peut et ça ne fait de mal à personne.

Auf Grund von einigen technischen Mängeln (flackernde Sprites, mieser Sound etc) kann und darf ich der NES-Version leider keinen ASM-HITSTERN verpassen. Was bleibt, ist gute Durchschnittsballerware für alle NES-Fans.

Tiger Heli ist mal wieder ein gelungenes Shoot-'em-Up Spiel für das NES. Die Grafiken sind gut gemacht, und auch der Sound konnte mich überzeugen. Es gehört zwar nicht unbedingt zu den schwersten Shoot 'em-Ups, die ich bisher gespielt habe, aber es hat auch seine Reize, die einen immer wieder an die Konsole bringen. Vielleicht sollte man noch etwas an der Story feilen, da diese nicht unbedingt für den deutschen Markt geeignet ist. Sie ist zwar nicht das, was man als jugendfrei bezeichnen kann, aber darum hat sich bis jetzt bei keinem Spiel jemand gekümmert.

Tiger-Heli is not a visually stunning game and the game play is a bit choppy, but it is a lot of fun. We love shooters, so the appeal is there from the start by nature of the genre. We suggest you give this game a try ad see if it's overall game play doesn't win you over. We had a lot of fun with this one!

Laziness, in games and in war, usually results in death, unless lucky; so it is for Tiger-Heli. Shall I tell of the tokens you collect on the battlefield? Collecting ten nabs you an extra life. Try it. Sure as you’re born. What about the imploded pepperoni craters that appear whenever you destroy anything? They make me yearn for pizza, but tell me little about the game itself. Or perhaps, upon realizing that Tiger-Heli might be the most nondescript shooter on the NES, the mention of the pepperoni craters in my review says it all.

Très vieux, trop vieux, Tiger-Heli est aussi une vilaine conversion du jeu d'arcade de Toaplan. En 1986, les développeurs sont loin d'avoir exploité la NES et ils n'arrivent pas à prévenir une floppée de clignotements d'envahir l'écran. Mais l'âge n'excuse pas la pauvreté des décors et moins encore tous les problèmes de gameplay comme la lenteur des déplacements et l'action en boucle. Malgré quelques bonnes idées dans le maniement de l'hélicoptère et du plaisir en début de partie, Tiger-Heli donne l'impression d'un jeu à moitié fini, et peut-être même moins.

There are only two problems with the game. First, even with good graphics, it is almost impossible to determine the jetcopter's altitude. Second, it is too easy to accidentally discharge an impact bomb while firing missiles. Thankfully, neither of these weaknesses create serious problems for Tiger-Hell. Therefore, it is one of the most exciting arcade shoot- 'em-ups to turn up on the NES.
