🕹️ New release: Lunar Lander Beyond

International Rugby Challenge

aka: Campo's International Rugby
Moby ID: 13821
DOS Specs

Description official description

The follow-up to Rugby: The World Cup. The game features more options than before, with an icon-driven menu system including different control choices and match lengths.

Controls are similar to the original game, but tackling is now harder and requires more precise player placement, and rucks and mauls are implemented. As before, the scrums involve joystick-waggling, and are crucial to advancing the ball. Conversions are taken from a separate 3D view.

Trivia

Amiga Power review

This received a score of 2% from one Amiga magazine. Quite aside from the main gameplay being poor, it featured a number of glaring faults. If there were only 1 or 2 of these, or they were part of a decent game, they could've been endearing, but they make the whole thing look even shoddier. A few favourites include:

The French stadium was called the Parc de Paris - it was actually the Parc des Princes. The Scottish one, Murrayfield, was written as Murray Field.

Words such as 'tries' and 'possession' are mis-spelled on the statistics screen.

Pausing the game freezes the action, but the timer continues.

When taking a conversion, the player is always wearing an England kit. Also, the size of the line-judge graphic is always the same, so the closer the kick is, the shorter they look.

The default control option is the mouse.
