GameCube version

Most likely the greatest motocross game since Excitebike 64

The Good
Freekstyle. That name alone insinuates EXTREMENESS. Well, this over-the-top, frenzic and blazing fast motorcrossing game is by far the best of its kind. The courses stretch out for miles and offer plenty of ramps to bust-out some tricks. The animations of the tricks are top-notch, the blur effects are decent, and the courses themselves look pretty life-like. The circuit mode is very challenging, and you will get frustrated. Freestyle mode is pretty entertaining, but only three courses kinda kills it (and the third level has to be unlocked by completing circuit mode). Multi-player is nothing special, but could be fun once you and another get into it.

The Bad
Although the game does have top-notch gameplay, some aspects of it kinda ruin it. The game is very tough to master, and one bail could bring you to last place in the later levels. There are also not as many courses as you would like but they are all still very fun. The voiceovers in the game will get on your nerves, and I suggest you to turn off the announcer before you put an ax through the TV. Still, these are pretty minor, and the positives outweigh the negatives by a ton.

The Bottom Line
An underrated gem.
