Une réalisation trÚs soignée pour de la PS2 et une jouabilité bien étudiée. Dynamique et efficace.

Reign of Fire is a good game and is worth at least a rental. The game will provide challenge even the most hardcore gamers. You should pick it up at least to experience how many dragons come at you and what you do in response. It's crazy and I love it. If you enjoyed the movie, you'll enjoy the game. There are plenty of extra features including movie clips and Mad at Gravity's Walk Away music video.

Reign of Fire is a fast-paced game with loads of action. The game looks good and plays well, and is very forgiving â especially if you are driving a vehicle and not paying much attention to where you are going, but are concentrating on what you are shooting at. The AI is average, and enemies tend to move in a predictable manner, making them easy to target. The anomalies of terrain do throw the concept of âeasy pickingsâ down the drain, and you have to be constantly on the move, jostling and bouncing about, or the game will end quickly. This is an enjoyable game, and should suit most fans of action-packed shooting games.

The music itself like the voice acting is another aspect that is a standard course of mediocre serving. It's looped through your ear drums in a coordination of some heavy and lighter pulses that aren't memorable in the least, although aren't bad at all to have to hear. Effectively they work -- if only enough that they're there for the sake of being there.

Games based on movies traditionally have a bad rap, and games based on poor movies have a tougher time of becoming successful. As average as it is, Reign of Fire is one of the few games that actually surpasses the movie that inspired it. Apparently, securing a movie license doesnât necessarily net you the star, as Matthew McConaughey's fails to appear in video or voice form. No matter â I didnât find his character all that clever or likeable in the film.

I wasnât expecting a lot out of this licensed product since the movie itâs based on turned out so poorly, but I was pleasantly surprised to find some entertainment in this gameâs simple premise. Sporting play controls similar to Haloâs driving portions, the player cruises around in a 4x4 blasting targets as they converge on you from all sides. You also get a chance to play as the dragons. The title does a good job of conveying a sense of urgency and being in the field of combat, but the overall design is just average. Not bad, but not good either.

Reign of Fire is one of those games I wanted to like more than I did. I truly believe that all sorts of cool dragon games could be made, but that few have really nailed it. The closest one, to me, was Drakan: The Ancients' Gates, which was more of an action-adventure game that included a dragon.

There are fleeting moments of fun in Reign of Fire, but they're quickly smothered beneath lame level design, wretched controls, and a surprising lack of intensity, considering all the dragons and missiles and fire and whatnot. Men in Black II: Alien Escape, welcome your new partner in the genre of "Crappy PS2 Tie-In Shooters Doomed to Obscurity."

In the end, Reign of Fire is a fairly thin gaming experience. There is some occasional fun to be had, as some of the action sequences are exciting to take part in, and watching a dead dragon fall from the sky is an exciting sight. Unfortunately, this excitement quickly fades, leaving you with a game with unresponsive controls and lackluster action.
