A Ressha de Ikō 2001

A Ressha de Ikō 2001 is a sequel to A Train 6, featuring updated features and new content. There is now an increased social element, with people appearing to use train stations in-game. A new materials system introduces complexity by introducing the concept of scarcity, with the presence of different materials necessary for industries to be built up around train stations.

The PS2 and Windows versions are essentially identical aside from control schemes. The PS2 version includes the option to install the game to the PS2 hard drive, while the Windows version always runs from the hard drive. Both versions featured optional, paid expansion packs, but they contain different content; the Windows version's are more complex and featured additional content.
