W ostatnich słowach muszę powiedzieć, że "MUPLC" jest wszechstronnym symulatorem piłki nożnej, łączącym najlepsze cechy gier typowo zręcznościowych, jak i programów menedżerskich (Premier Manager 2), dający możliwość sprawdzenia się. Oprócz tego, że jest on dopracowany szczegółowo pod względem grafiki, dźwięku i animacji, to rzeczą dla mnie najważniejszą jest realizm - gra posiada wszystkie elementy piłki nożnej: strzały z woleja, główki, strzały podkręcone, żółte i czerwone kartki, a nawet "spalone". Mogę tę grę spokojnie zarekomendować jako najlepszy na rynku program tego rodzaju.

MUPLC is one hell of a good football game. Although the actual match itself might not be as smooth or fluid as Sensible Soccer, and the controls might not be as comprehensive as Goal!, the tactical side of the game gives you far more control over your team than either of those. One worth having in your collection.

Tactically this is fantastic with all the right people, squad numbers and formations. Realism scores highly too, with well animated goalkeepers, realistic weather conditions and a range of injuries. And it plays brilliantly, but the control is just a touch weak in places (especially when shooting at goal) and as such Sensi still reigns. But only just.

Le jeu proprement dit n'est pas très novateur. L'angle de vue est le même que pour les Kick off et Sensible, et les graphismes sont toujours aussi simplistes. Les joueurs semblent même un peu plus petits. L'action file à cents à l'heure en première division et l'ambiance est plutôt sympathique. Ce que l'on retiendra avant tout du soft, mise à part sa bonne jouabilité, c'est son aspect gestion stratégique, qui dépasse de loin ses concurrents. Du foot, du vrai, où l'on peut enfin revêtir tour à tour le rôle du joueur comme celui d l'entraîneur!

Krisalis have made an admiral, it flawed attempt to combine addictive, arcade action with the rigours of management. And with a little more attention to detail on the arcade side, MUPLC could have been a real beauty - it is considerably better than the first two. As it is, it's my second favourite football game and if you're looking for a change from Sensible Soccer, MUPLC is the best alternative.

MUPLC simuloi jokseenkin onnistuneesti brittifutista - se on hieman mielikuvitukseton ja tylsähkön puoleinen. (Pisteet eivät siis tulleet kuin Manulle illallinen toim.huom.) Tämä peli ei ole suinkaan huono, siitä vain puuttuu imua. Man Utd -faneille tiedotettakoon, että MUPLC on virallinen seuratuote siinä missä liigahuivit.

Manchester United orientiert sich ganz klar an den beiden Spitzenreitern. Kleine Spieler und stellenweise hohes Spieltempo verlangen geschickte Ballführung. Unterschiedliche Taktiken und Statistiktabellen lassen etliche Gesichtspunkte des Managements mit ins Spiel einfließen, so daß sowohl das spielerische als auch das Planungsvermögen gefragt sind.

Ať se snažím, jak to jen jde, nemůžu programu v podstatě nic vytknout. Snad kromě nehorázně dlouhých výčtů tabulek s výsledky, které ale k fotbalu neodmyslitelně patří. Co se grafiky týče, nejde o žádný mistrovský kousek, ale vše je prokresleno s velkou pečlivostí s ohledem na funkčnost programu. Celá hra je uložena na dvou disketách a tak samozřejmě nemůžeme očekávat digitalizovaná dema, nebo něco podobného. S hudbou a zvukovými efekty se Krisalis docela vytáhly, což jistě všichni ocení. V průběhu akčních scén je hra doprovázena výkřiky rozvášněných fanoušků a umírajících myší. V neakčních scénách váš doprovází stylová poklidná hudba. A to je asi tak všechno. Manchester United je jednoduše velmi kvalitním simulátorem anglické fotbalové ligy, se všemi jejími podstatnými prvky.

Die Übersetzung der Texte hat sich seit dem Amiga leicht verbessert, allerdings kann nun nicht mehr zwischen zwei Spielgeschwindigkeiten gewählt werden. Was die Grafik angeht, wissen die Zwischenbilder noch am besten zu gefallen, zumal die Sprites zwar ordentlich animiert, aber doch sehr klein sind. Richtig schlecht sind die Sound-Effekte, und Musik gibt es gleich gar nicht. Was es gibt, das ist ein ordentliches Programm, das jedoch weder so variabel zu steuern ist wie „Kick Off 3“ noch so ausgereift wie „Sensible Soccer“ wirkt - vom derzeitigen Champion „FIFA Soccer“ gar nicht zu reden. Also ein Fall für Fans. Und solange die 2.500 Jungs nicht aus der Bundesliga stammen und auf der Packung nicht ein Name wie Bayern München prangt, werden das hierzulande halt nicht allzu viele sein.

Wäre da nicht die gute Übersicht dank des großen Bildschirmausschnitts und die einigermaßen gute Steuerung, hätte ich mich sowieso nicht weiter damit befaßt. Eine Alternative zu Goal oder Sensible Soccer ist dieses Stück Software jedoch leider nicht.

Nach Kick Off 3, Planet Football und anderen Fußball-Betriebsunfällen ist diese Manchester-Aufarbeitung eine angenehme Überraschung. Die häßliche und nicht sonderlich gut animierte Futzelgrafik mag spontane Fluchtimpulse hervorrufen, aber ein allmähliches Anfreunden mit der trüben Technik lohnt sich. So einfach die Steuerung auch ist, erlaubt sie ebenso schlichte wie flotte Kicks. Der Haken an der Sache: Der Spielwitz des offensichtlichen Vorbilds Sensible Soccer wird nicht ganz erreicht.

Die Soundabteilung von Krisalis hat sich redlich bemüht, die bombastische FIFA Soccer-Geräuschkulisse zumindest annähernd zu kopieren. Außer einigen „Aaaahs“ und „Oooohs“ hat das Spiel aber nicht viel zu bieten, ganz zu schweigen von der völlig fehlenden Musik. Manchester United reiht sich daher nahtlos in die Riege der vielen Durchschnitts-Programme ein, die sich wegen fehlendem Spielwitz und fadem Gameplay nur knapp im Wertungs-Mittelfeld behaupten können.
