Overall, Singularity 5 is a solid title that I highly recommend, especially at the price point of ten bucks. As smooth as the experience it provides is, it also makes me long for a multiplayer option as my wife is a fan of light gun games. Though I am aware of the limit of needing multiple VR headsets combined with the danger of playing in proximity to someone preventing the possibility of multiplayer, Singularity 5 encourages me that there may be hope for the possibility in the future.

Singularity 5 is one of those rare games that looks so good it shouldn't play well, but still does. It's an incredibly aggressive piece of interactive art, one that you can only fully experience if you're willing to don a VR headset and fight through hordes of robots with great feeling weapons. I don't know if this is a must-play game, but it's definitely a must see game. It's the kind of world that you'd happily get stuck in. Well, if it weren't for the angry robots.

Shooting galleries and wave shooters on VR platforms seem a little dime-a-dozen by this point, but Singularity 5’s peerless visual approach and intensity make it stand out from the pack. It’s definitely that most obvious of VR game recommendations, being the kind that friends will want to show off to their guests, and its style presents a welcome change of pace from the increasingly homogenized and low-fi look of many other wave-shooters. While a little more content or a few more weapons and sequences would sweeten the package even further, Singularity 5positions proudly as a budget-priced VR game that will put challenge-seekers through their paces, even on easy mode.

Short but extremely sweet is how I’d describe this little hidden gem and if you want a gorgeous and stylistic shooter for your growing VR library, this is it.

I’m not the biggest fan of wave-based shooters, but Singularity 5 goes to show that a stunning presentation and immersive VR with quality shooting controls can convert even a cynic like myself. I would love to see this tech and design aesthetic get used in a story-driven FPS game. Monochrome Paris has crafted a unique world, and I would love to see more of it. Meanwhile, I’ll be working on my shooting and swiping skills so that maybe one day I can complete this game on Normal difficulty.

Morally, it is great because there is no blood or gore, and no language. Even so, the final boss does look a little gruesome in the late stages, but other than that, it’s fine. Also, the final boss does not have any clothes on, but no features are shown. Singularity 5 is insanely hard, even on easy mode, so if you are looking for difficulty, I would highly recommend this game.

Gaming Cypher (7.5 out of 10) (75%)

Overall, though, I can’t imagine that the replayability of this game is too high since each level has a leading strategy to finish, so maybe having more levels or adding more variety to the current levels would help with that, but this game was fun for the short time I played it. It really is beautiful and fun when it cooperates, but unfortunately this didn’t happen as often as I had hoped.

The action is intense, the mechanics are refined and the presentation and art-style is stunning. Even if you can’t stomach another wave shooter, I urge you to consider Singularity 5 as the aesthetic alone adds a fresh take on VR wave shooters.

Everyeye.it (6 out of 10) (60%)
