So.. what makes this RPG so special? An incredibly involved plot, with 200,000 words of story! Wonderful graphics and sound. An enormous, evolving world. Do nothing, and the world changes around you. Refugees move from town to town. Villages will be destroyed. Characters will die. Monsters will gain territory. Detailed, open ended system. Don't want to go on adventures? Do odd jobs. Save up and buy a house. Go on one of dozens of side missions. Explore an enormous outdoors with well over a hundred dungeons and towns. Just go through people's houses and rummage through their stuff! Elegant, carefully designed interface, with comprehensive online help, adventure journals, and design with an eye towards enabling you to do everything with the minimum amount of fuss.

Exile III is an awesome RPG, provided you learn how to play it. This may mean reading the manual before you play the game. Once you get into this game it will hold you for months in the wonderful intricate worlds of Exile. I really enjoyed exploring all the nooks and crannies of the game and feel Exile III is definitely worth the registration price of $25.

This version of Exile is the best yet, with plenty of in-game hints and tips on how to use spells, gain gold, find hidden places, and more. The conversation menu has been greatly improved, with you now being able to see the person who you are talking to, even if in a static, cartoonish way.

The simple graphics of Exile III don't really matter because the plot and setting alone will totally engross you to the point of near starvation. I quiver at the thought that anyone could completely explore every acre of land on the massive above-ground continent. The surface has hundreds of towns to visit, ancient powerful artifacts to seek, evil to expel and too many subplots to mention.
