Way Too Many Games (8.5 out of 10)

I can’t help but love witnessing the noticeable improvements in each yearly iteration of WRC, going from a mediocre rally title to what’s possibly the best franchise of the genre in the market nowadays. WRC 10 is its crown achievement, especially on next-gen consoles. It looks sharp, its controls are more intuitive, and the amount of content included in here is excellent. Racing fans who happen to own a PlayStation 5 need to grab this one, even if rally racing isn’t exactly their bread and butter. WRC 10 is so well-rounded that it’s worth checking out regardless.

It's hard to avoid comparisons between WRC 10 and the increasingly liberal depiction of rallying in the DIRT and Forza Horizon series, but where they've veered off in a new direction, WRC 10 remains faithful to its source material and offers a fine emulation of the World Rally Championship with a few technical niggles.

C'est un grand oui et une bien belle bougie soufflée par Kylotonn. S'il ne chamboule pas les habitués, WRC 10 réussit à faire progresser l'ensemble de ses modes de jeu par de petites touches sympathiques, comme la gestion de l'allocation des pneus, de nouveaux rôles en carrière ou l'éditeur de livrées. Le mode anniversaire galvanise le contenu et la durée de vie via de nouveaux tracés délicieusement old-school, pour faire du titre le plus complet de la licence. On prend un réel plaisir au niveau des sensations de courses et un dépaysement total sur certaines spéciales, malgré le manque de mise en scène récurrent et quelques failles techniques (tearing, cliping...). Mais là n'est pas l'important : WRC 10 clot une décennie en haut de la pente gravie de main de maître par Kylotonn les dernières saisons, et on espère que le studio français réussira à clore son engagement avec le championnat du monde de rallye de la plus belle des manières la saison prochaine.

Πρακτικά, πατάει στην επιτυχία των προκατόχων του, και με την έλευση του Anniversary mode κάνει ένα βηματάκι μπροστά. Βέβαια, όλα τα προβλήματα του παρελθόντος βρίσκονται και πάλι εδώ, αλλά ποιος πραγματικά μπορεί να αντισταθεί στην ευκαιρία να τρέξει, έστω και ψηφιακά, στο Rally Acropolis;

WRC 10 builds on the success of its predecessor with another impressive rally sim. The handling feels excellent on the track, and speeding through all the official routes is a real thrill. Alongside its meaty Career mode is a long list of ways to play, including the 50th Anniversary cars and events, which are a great addition. It's not perfect, lacking some visual polish and locking content in unusual ways, but overall, this is another step in the right direction for KT Racing.

WRC 10 is another solid entry in the long-running series. This year’s a special one for WRC fans thanks to the 50th-anniversary content which is its own game mode. The racing is as good as ever and the Career mode has taken pains to bring fans into the backroom of the sport. A few performance issues aside, WRC 10 is a must-play for rally fans.

Despite the visual breaks and screen tears that seem to happen oftentimes, WRC 10 is the ultimate rally game on PS5. At this point, there is no better alternative if the objective is getting the wheels dirty on the gravel roads. WRC 10 makes great use of the haptic feedback, bringing the vibrations to a new level of immersion while the triggers help add a new layer also. Career Mode is still unchanged from previous years, though the Season Mode is also still an option for those who don't wish to partake in the managerial aspects of the team management options. Otherwise, for those looking for the ultimate challenge beyond the AI opponents, the Online mode is still a bustling wonderland of challenges for all diehard competitors. Of course, this package wouldn't be complete without dipping into the historical races over the last 50 years of WRC, allowing for drivers to explore the older cars while also learning about their historical significance to the sport.

Kylotonn continues to improve with WRC 10 FIA World Rally Championship. It remains a great drive and the career mode, whilst a little stagnant, does offer you plenty to get on with. The anniversary content feels like a well-rounded mode that, although steep in difficulty, allows you to enjoy the series' more iconic vehicles. The DualSense is put to good use and it's nice to hear your co-driver has some more personality this time around. It's not taking large strides but remains a fantastic rally experience.

Unlike many motor sports, this has you racing against the clock to get the best time, and working with your navigator who tells you when to turn and how hard. As a result, people who don't want to race on their own, and with someone telling them what to do, or who prefer the more relaxed approach of an arcade racing game, will find this endlessly frustrating. Doubly so when they get to the detailed "Career" mode and have to micromanage a team as well. But for rally heads and racing sim enthusiasts, this has it all.

A few issues with the visuals take the shine off of WRC 10 which is otherwise yet another authentic, enjoyable rally game from KT Racing. Not a vast amount has changed since WRC 9 but what new content that has been added, including the Anniversary Mode which celebrates 30 years of the sport, does just enough to make this a worthwhile annual iteration for the series.

If you missed out on WRC 9, you may be content with picking that up for a bargain (assuming you have a disc-based console). If you want the latest and most up-to-date rally racing simulator, though, then WRC 10 is more than competent at providing a ton of fun for rally fans everywhere.

Bringing back all of the modes from last year’s WRC 9, including the unique co-driver mode, while adding a new Anniversary Mode and some welcome new features, WRC 10 is the biggest entry in the series yet. It can be punishing at times, perhaps overly so, but it’s hard not to be impressed by the game’s authenticity. Racing through stages is always exhilarating, thanks largely to the impressive visuals and reliable physics model. And whether you want to sink your teeth into a meaty career or dive in for a quick challenge, there’s a mode for you. There’s still a little room for improvement, but WRC 10 is undoubtedly the best rally game you can buy right now.

L'unica motivazione che potrebbe far avvicinare i fan è legata all'inserimento della modalità 50° anniversario, che omaggia degnamente alcune delle tappe più iconiche e storiche di questo sport. WRC 10 isn’t going to be for everybody, but I think the ones that love it will really love it. The driving is excellent, and the sound design is next to none. Plus, it features a deep career mode and several historical scenarios for you to sink your teeth into. One minute, it’s frustrating the hell out of you; the next, you’re pumping your fist in the air over the milliseconds you were able to shave off a run. And that’s what racing is all about.

WRC 10 is a solid entry into the franchise. While there are usually updates, pretty landscapes, and nods to the parts and history of the sport that’s about all that’s new. It feels like last year’s edition, but just with some more polish and finesse. That’s fine, but I’m just not sure if it’s worth taking your keys and trading them in for the newer model. It is a fine ride and time, but overall nothing special to take for a spin.

WRC 10 non porta con sé grandi novità e purtroppo si trascina appresso dei fardelli già noti, ma anche se non se n’è liberato del tutto almeno prova a fare in modo che alcuni siano meno fastidiosi. Questo lieve miglioramento generale e la modalità Storica aiutano a soprassedere sulle magagne/mancanze e a godersi un “simularcade” di rally divertente e appagante, oltre che dotato di una Carriera e un online corposi. Il franchise non compie l’auspicato salto di qualità, fa solo un passo nella direzione giusta: difficilmente ciò basterà a infiammare i piloti più esigenti o chi possiede già WRC 9, ma diversi appassionati di off-road potrebbero ritenerlo comunque più che sufficiente per divertirsi.

(...) Was Kylotonn mit seiner KT Engine auf der Next-Gen-Konsole abliefert, ist schlichtweg ein Armutszeugnis, zu dem sich auch noch nervige Verbindungsprobleme gesellen. Ich wollte WRC 10 eigentlich mögen. Auch weil ich durchaus Spaß mit dem Vorgänger hatte und mich über die kontinuierliche Steigerung des Studios gefreut habe, das immer mehr zu Dirt Rally aufschließen konnte. Aber wenn ich mir jetzt anschaue, was die Franzosen da vor allem in technischer Hinsicht fabriziert haben, ist es für die WRC-Reihe vielleicht wirklich besser, wenn 2023 das Lizenz-Zepter an Codemasters weitergereicht wird.

De performance had stabieler gekund, maar je krijgt prachtige omgevingen te zien, al zijn die soms iets te donker, zeker in een lichte kamer. Door de hoge mate van instelbaarheid kun je de game verder uitstekend afstemmen op je eigen niveau. Al met al is dit een goede en mooie rallygame die her en der beter had gekund, maar alsnog de moeite waard is.
