Official Description (Ad Blurb)
Instructions From Starfleet
TO BOLDLY GO WHERE NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE.™
Captain's log, star date 3715.3. While making a routine exploration of the Delta Quadranguli 6, Starfleet instructs you to proceed to the planet Z25X at warp speed for an emergency evacuation. Once there, you'll confront hostile Klingon™ ships which must be destroyed before your rescue mission can begin. So boost your impulse power and prepare for maximum thrust, because you're about to explore one of those strange new worlds they're always talking about.
PEP TALK INCLUDED!
To give you the feeling of being right on the bridge, we've included great sound effects and talking commands featuring classic phrases like "Fire photon torpedoes," "Beam me up, Scotty"™ and "Warp speed." Listen carefully and obey these commands throughout the mission.
HOW TO BEGIN YOUR TREK.
Remove the plastic cover on the screen before you begin your mission. To begin, press the On/Start Switch and the high score will be displayed. Press the On/Start Switch again to start your mission.
SPACE: THE FINAL FRONTIER.™
For a successful mission you'll need to complete three Battle Stages and the Rescue Stage that follows each one, before time runs out. During the battle sequences, use the CONTROL/REPAIR Button to move the U.S.S. Enterprise's Defense Shield from right to left. When the Klingon ship is in rage press the FIRE/TRANSPORT Button to fire Photon Torpedoes. You must disable one Klingon ship during the first stage, three during the second stage, and six during the third stage. But beware, the enemy can inflict some heavy damage.Watch your Damage Display. If your ENGINE is damaged it will take longer for you to restore power. Damage to the BRIDGE will slow down shield movement. If your WEAPONS are damaged, Photon Torpedoes won't always fire. Damage to the SENSOR will make some Klingon ships invisible. And SHIELD damage will decrease the size of your defense shield. If all five systems suffer damage, your game will be over.
SPOCK TO THE RESCUE.
Watch for Mr. Spock to appear—If you press the CONTROL/REPAIR Button at just the right time, one of your damaged systems will be repaired.
BEAM ME UP, SCOTTY.™
After each battle stage, you'll need to complete a rescue mission. You must rescue 20 humanoids during the first stage, 30 during the second stage, and 40 during the third.
To beam up survivors, use the CONTROL/REPAIR Button to orbit the planet (be sure to avoid enemy torpedoes). Then press the FIRE/TRANSPORT Button when you hear "Beam me up, Scotty." Your POWER LEVEL must be at two or more. (The POWER LEVEL increases automatically as time goes by.)
So check your coordinates and your live support systems. Then shift into warp speed. And hope you live long enough to seek out new life and new civilizations.
NOTE: After you change the batteries, press the All Clear Key with a ballpoint pen to clear the screen. The game turns itself off if not in use for a period of 60 seconds.
