Schöne Grafik, unterhaltsamer orientalischer Sound und eine interessante Story - schade nur, dass sich das Spielprinzip schlecht mit der kurzen Batteriedauer des Game Gear verträgt und ihr so am besten immer auch gleich ein Netzteil zur Hand habt. Zudem werden auch Profis trotz unendlich Continues noch gut gefordert, daher sollten Game Gear Besitzer beim Besuch der arabischen Kerkeranlagen schon etwas Geduld mitbringen...

I like this version of P.O.P. because you can bring it with you wherever you go. The graphics are very good for the Game Gear and the animation is cool. The sounds are kind of annoying, but expected from the 8-bit hardware. The gameplay is very solid and has lost little if nothing in the translation. Lots of fun.

Une nouvelle fois, Prince of Persia aura eu beaucoup de mal à transférer efficacement son système de combat sur Master System et Game Gear, transformant des versions autrement honnêtes en ersatz maladroits. Un choix malheureux et inexplicable qui pénalise suffisamment l’expérience de jeu pour recommander de préférer autant que possible des versions plus fidèles au jeu de base.

Auch nach der x-ten Umsetzung macht Prince of Persia immer noch Spaß. Die anmutigen Bewegungen des Jünglings samt detaillierter Grafik und knackiger Rätseln sprechen für das Game-Gear-Modul, leider ist die Steuerung gewöhnungsbedürftig - dafür springt der Prinz so weit wie keiner seiner System-Genossen. In Sachen Spielbarkeit sieht‘s auf dem Game Boy besser aus, dafür bleibt dem Game-Gear-Casanova Augenflimmern erspart. Wer sich entscheiden kann, sollte die Game Boy Variante erwählen. Für angehende Thronfolger die einzige Alternative.
