X³: Reunion
Description official descriptions
X³: Reunion is a space trading and combat simulation that continues the story of X²: The Threat. The war with the mysterious Khaak still rages at the borders of Argon space, where the weakened defending forces try to stop the expanding invasion. But a new, even bigger menace arises in the endless darkness of space.
Like its predecessors, the game features free-form gameplay, allowing the player to completely ignore the main story of the game (actually there is an option to play the game without any story at all). There are several ways to earn money or reputation - mining asteroids, trading, building player-owned stations, fighting against pirates or becoming pirate oneself, and so on. only to name a few. With a large variety of ships and equipment, the player can build (or capture) a whole customized battle and/or trading fleet.
X³: Reunion (Game of the Year Edition) includes the following improvements from patch 1.4:
- Over 200 newly designed models
- Completely redesigned X universe, with new high detailed environments including asteroid fields, dense gaseous nebulae, starship graveyards plus much more.
- New technologies and weapons systems
- Now controllable via joystick, keyboard and mouse cursor.
X³: Reunion 2.0 (Game of the Year Edition) is a re-release which streamlines patch 2.0.01 that includes bug fixes, updates and features:
- Mobile Mining and Space Station Wrecks, both of which were introduced in v1.3
- Bala Gi Research missions, enabling access to Player Headquarters station and new ships Paranid Hyperion, Argon Eclipse, Split Chimera and Paranid Medusa.
- Over 200 newly designed models including ships and space stations
- Two new sectors: Senator’s Badlands (Yaki) and Elysium of Light (Goner)
- A new ship class: the M7.
- The Xenon have an upgraded arsenal to counter the new ships designed by Bala Gi Research Inc
- A new weapon: the Concussion Impulse Generator.
X³: Reunion 2.0 (2007 Game of the Year Edition) is a re-release which streamlines patch 2.0.02 that includes:
- The exclusive (and unique) M6 class battleship once owned by the Pontifex Maximus Paranidia himself.
