If I never, ever played Wings of Fury on the Apple II, I'd probably be raving about the game (in fact, I still am, just not as much as I would have). It's still a well-designed action game, even for a game designed more than a decade ago. It may sound like I'm nitpicking with the small omissions, but I have to say - I really miss the surge of adrenaline when I swooped down with guns blazing, picking off the enemy troops before they got to repair the ground-to-air guns, or slammed into the ground, skidded to a stop to plow into an enemy bunker. It's the little things that mean a lot. Still, the game is one that I highly recommend picking up, especially if you're unfamiliar with the original design. It's like nothing else on the Game Boy.

Wings of Fury spielt sich sehr flüssig, ist an einigen Stellen aber ein harter Brocken. Wer ein gutes Shoot 'em Up für die tragbare Konsole sucht, kann bedenkenlos zugreifen.

Vernieuwende games scoren bij mij altijd goed. De eerste action flightsim op de GBC is erg leuk uitgewerkt, maar kan helaas niet tot het eind boeien.

Une très bonne adaptation de ce vieux jeu, les fans seront probablement séduits malgré une certaine pauvreté graphique sur GBC. Un jeu original qui apporte un peu de fraîcheur à la Gameboy plus habituée aux sempiternels jeux de plate-forme.

The game's aesthetics are plainly functional; you won't be dazzled or nauseated. Otherwise, the game is truly a gem of its time, resurrected and given a face-lift for our age. If your life consists of a lot of downtime, then you should definitely check this out.

Ainsi, le déroulement n’est pas aussi répétitif que ses homologues. De plus, des éléments (comme les batteries de DCA) viennent s’ajouter tout au long des 17 (difficiles) missions du jeu. La jouabilité de l’appareil est sensible mais très bien pensée et instinctive. Par contre, les graphismes, qui sont plutôt pauvres en couleurs, deviennent lamentables sur console monochrome.
