My final game time was a little over 24 hours for those interested and that is with 100% completion (not all scans though). I think all gamers will find something to enjoy here whether you like the previous Metroid Primes or not. The new control scheme and gameplay mechanics really add a bunch of variety that will keep any gamer type interested while attempting to remove all Phazon from the solar system.

Other than that there is nothing to complain about in this game. Any Wii owner that has been waiting for a decent First Person Shooter/Adventure game should go out to the shop right now and spend your well earned money on one of the best games currently available on the Nintendo Wii… don’t let other games corrupt your mind!

No matter which difficulty setting you tackle first, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption will fulfill a lot of the promises made about the Wii when it was released last year. The first "hardcore" title for the system that was actually designed for it from the beginning, Corruption proves that the Wii is capable of more than just minigame collections and golf games.

I don’t believe in “perfect” games, but in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, there’s nothing left to be desired. It’s a fantastic game on all levels and should not be missed, especially by lifelong franchise players. The control scheme offers a truly immersive experience, the visuals are stunning, and the gameplay is phenomenal. Simply put, Metroid Prime 3 is undoubtedly a new standard of gaming for the Wii. If you’ve ever wanted to know what it feels like to be bounty hunter Samus Aran, your wish has been granted.

Dear Nintendo: Here is a totally free idea for the next Metroid game: set it on a distant planet called Beach where bounty hunter Samus is forced by an evil alien to play professional volleyball in lingerie against the Dead Or Alive girls. Despite the fact that Samus wears more clothes than a Medievel knight, we're willing to forgive her, thanks to the game's first-rate gameplay. For a first-person shooter, it controls amazingly well on the Wii. Peppering pesky Space Pirates with your various arm-cannons has never been easier, or more satisfying. And unlike the previous game in the series, Metroid Prime 3 doesn't require as much backtracking, and overall feels more like the balls-out action movie it should be. All told, a triple-A Wii title across the board.

If you're a fan of Metroid, then this should be the easiest decision in the world to make. Buy this game and savor every last drop. If you're a newcomer interested in sci-fi action or moody aventures, give the game at least an extended rental. If you simply desire a great and beautiful game, one that should set the bar for all those that follow in its wake, here it is. Just step behind the visor, for the first time or the last, and live as the greatest bounty hunter video games have ever known.

As a Metroid fanatic I’ve tried to stay objective with this review, but there’s no avoiding the fact that Corruption is an incredible game. The controls, the visuals, and the gameplay are so refined and polished, that Prime 3 can only find peer among the work of Valve or Irrational. Retro has proven FPS on Wii. Now go buy this game.

There aren't a lot of games available for the Wii that are T-Teen and like "Metroid Prime 3" so we'll recommend "Resident Evil 4" for older gamers, "Wii Play" for target shooting, and we'd like to remind you that budget releases of "Metroid 1 & 2" for the GameCube are available and a lot of fun (though you'll miss the immersive Wii controls).

And what Corruption lacks in available hardware specs it makes up for in direction and style for a truly beautiful game world. With creative creatures and a consistently brooding atmosphere, Samus's world is as alive and gorgeous as ever. It may not use the freshest paint, but it comes from the brush of a great painter, and together rivals Twilight Princess for the best Wii game yet.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the game that I would have liked to have played in 2002. Retro Studios was not content with leaving the formula unchanged. Retro reworked the controls for Wii, upgraded the graphics engine substantially, expanded the worlds beyond what we saw on GameCube, used landing points to both save and enter/exit different areas of a world without having to start at the beginning, gave Samus allies, added voice-acting, and kept the trademarks of the franchise in place. If a sequel is to do anything, it should improve on its predecessors. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption does that and more. This is both a game that can justify a Wii purchase and is a requisite for any current system owner.

Powtórzę się, ale niestety muszę – absolutny must have.

The original Metroid Prime is one of the highest rated games of all time, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption can easily stand by its side. Its incredible controls and even gameplay really elevate the franchise to new levels. Hardcore purists may find the greater emphasis on combat sacrilegious but for everyone else this is the Metroid game we've been waiting for since Super Metroid on the Super Nintendo. I believe that Metroid Prime 3: Corruption might just be the best game on the Wii, but I hesitate to recommend it to everyone. It’s a very challenging title, and will certainly cause the Wii’s target audience (casual gamers) quite a bit of trouble. It’s the little things. Watching a flying droid melt out of the sky after you’ve blasted it with a charged plasma shot. The puff of light and smoke a mine leaves behind after it jumps into your face. Seeing the husk of a dead soldier – frozen on a drifting spaceship – disintegrate to ash as you move it out of the way to use a console. These little moments stack up to make Metroid Prime 3: Corruption an unforgettable experience. But you may not notice them right away, because they weave together so well that it’s hard not to be distracted by the bigger tapestry they create.

Some very minor gripes aside, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is a stunning example of design elegance, balanced gameplay and total immersion. The Metroid game-world has become even more robust this time around, offering deeper glimpses into the world of Samus Aran, which, in itself is a sad concept given this is the end of the Prime trilogy. It'll be interesting to see what Retro work on next, and while I would love to see them continue working on this series, it would be unfair to lock their amazing design abilities into an IP like Metroid. Whatever they work on next is sure to be an important entrant in the halls of videogaming, just as much as the Metroid Prime series is among the most important first-person franchises of recent times ' do yourself a favour if you've never spent an evening with Samus by picking this dazzling example of passionate game development up as soon as possible.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption was originally set to launch with Wii, but the year-long delay has been very much worth the wait. Call it a first- person shooter or a first-person adventure -- doesn't matter. I call it the best game on Nintendo's console. It is clear from the moment you pick up the controller that Prime 3 was developed exclusively for Wii. Not only do the new controls respond quicker and with more precision than any dual-analog-helmed FPS ever created, but the gesture system works brilliantly, too. Meanwhile, the title delivers everything a Metroid fan could hope for, including spectacular environmental puzzles, epic boss fights and intense combat, all wrapped up in a package that spans multiple worlds and is filled with re-traversal exploration. A cinematic storyline made possible by beautiful art and graphics rounds out the experience, which is complemented by a medal system and WiiConnect24 compatibility.

As a sheer gameplay experience, however, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption ripples with life. It doesn’t offer mindless escapism; it demands you actively engage in the world you are placed in. It rewards curiosity, exploration, and careful thought applied to the obstacles in front of you. It gives gamers a visceral and subconsciously intuitive interface that will draw you into a more tactile experience than you are likely to ever have experienced. Even while the story fails to match the sublime depths of the gameplay design, Prime 3 is a beautiful game, an artistic monolith that consumes the player with possibilities. While the answers aren’t always as thrilling as the questions, the fact that a game exists capable of providing the kind of haunted examination and reflection that Prime 3 does is a feat of the highest magnitude in the medium. I’m done with Corruption, but it will be in my dreams for a good while yet.

That said, I can deal with all of those issues. The gorgeous graphics, great level design, and fantastic controls overshadow any of the game's minor issues. Intense first-person combat and solving environmental puzzles has never looked or played better. This is a must-own, must-experience title for the Wii, a hardcore offering that sets the bar for first-person shooters on the console high and should be looked to as the new standard. Now that Prime 3 is at our disposal, it is quite safe to say that Wii has an official flagship title that was built from the ground up to take advantage of the Wii’s control scheme and graphical capabilities. Prime also shows how to make an FPS (or as Nintendo calls it an first person adventure..) for the Wii that actually works and replaces the archaic analog stick control setup. Players will be corrupted by Prime 3 because it will be difficult to play other FPS titles without the unique and innovative controls offered by the Wiimote and nun chuck. Metroid also instills confidence in what is left of their hardcore audience, proving that Nintendo remembers who brought them their initial success. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is a must have title for Wii owners.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption on allekirjoittaneelle ensimmäinen kosketus pelisarjaan. Vertailun vuoksi testaamani GameCuben ensimmäinen Metroid Prime vahvistaa tunnetta siitä, että olen jäänyt paljosta paitsi. Tunnelmaa löytyy molemmista, ensimmäisestä Primesta alkuvaiheissa ehkä jopa enemmän kuin uusimmasta. Wiin ohjausjärjestelmä kuitenkin tuplapompauttaa Metroid Primen aivan uudelle tasolle ja GameCuben perinteisempi ohjausmenetelmä tuntuu hetkessä todella kankealta. Corruption on ehdoton hankinta Metroid-sarjan faneille, mutta todella suositeltava teos myös avaruusteemaan muuten hurahtaneille. Vaarana on, että peliin ja sarjaan jää koukkuun, eikä kymmenen pelin pelaaminen kronologisessa järjestyksessä sovellu välttämättä perheellisille, työssäkäyville tai ulkoilmaa arvostaville. Sarjaan Wiin kautta tutustuvat voivat siirtyä Corruptionin läpäistyään sujuvasti Game Boyn harmaasävynäytölle ja tarinan seuraavan osan, Metroid II: Return of Samusin pariin.

Begeisterung! The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

I simply had to respond to all the hardcore first person shooter fans out there that were looking for innovation in the long running genre. Corruption is the game FPS fans have been waiting for. It uses the Wii controls to immerse the player into an entirely new environment that will revolutionize the way we look at shooters in the future. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption leaves its two predecessors in the distant past, struggling to catch up. The innovations won't be changing any worlds, but they definitely redefine some of the rules we've been playing by since the first Prime was released for the GameCube in 2002. Despite a few nagging control issues, the highlight of the game is without a doubt the near-perfect FPS motion controls. There are some unlockables which can be "purchased" with earned achievement- like points - including a cool screen capture feature - but if anything brings you back for a repeat playthrough, it's more likely to be the great story and fun gameplay. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption does indeed deliver the experience that fans have been hoping for. Now the only question that remains is what's next for the universe with the trilogy completed?

While it’s easy to pick out little gaps here and there where improvements still need to be made, those not as nit-picky as I am will find a very satisfying and incredibly immersive experience that simply should not be missed. The campaign in itself offers a good deal of play time, but in a flash of brilliance, the developers also added unlockables, which can only be purchased by completing certain goals in the game (scanning objects, etc) and getting currency. These range from simple art books, to playback options for the game’s epic musical score, or even cool little novelties like bumper stickers for Samus’ ship (which I’m still working up to try and purchase). The only other disappointment is a lack of multiplayer, but regardless, you can expect to have an epic time with Metroid Prime 3.

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is an expansion of its predecessors, and it builds on their legacy in every aspect. New weapons, more attack options, greater variety of bosses, more creative use of Samus' abilities to solve puzzles; it reads like a talented game designer's checklist. To say the game is competent would do it a disservice; it is a well-polished gift to both the Wii and to Metroid fans, and it puts the Wii's control scheme to good use beyond the mini-games. I think Corruption would be a solid entry in the series as a "normal" game using standard controllers, but the translation to such tightly-honed motion-control is what makes the game stand out most, and concludes the trilogy on a high note.

It shouldn't be much of a surprise to hear that Corruption is another fantastic effort by Retro Studios. The streamlined, pin-point accurate controls set a new precedent for first-person games on the Wii, and the game itself will keep you busy for more than a few weekends with its excellent achievement-like reward system and lengthy quest that easily took us 20 hours to collect every item, scan every object and obtain the best ending.

The Wii has been aimed at the casual market, but this is the game that’ll show the Wii can also satisfy hardcore gamers. One thing I should mention is that sometimes doors take a little while to open, but this isn’t a bug – it’s a feature designed to mask the loading times of the next area. Nintendo may well be gearing up for yet another highly profitable Christmas, but at least they had the decency to throw us suffering fans a scrap before our Xmas feast.

There is no online multiplayer, no co-op (they would have needed to rebuild the entire game), but there doesn’t have to be. It is an experience to be compared to BioShock’s in an entirely different way. You aren’t moving through the pages of a brilliantly constructed piece of art like you are while exploring Rapture. You are literally moving in the world of Metroid. The game is wonderful and worth a buy in every sense of the word.

There have been some concerns throughout the Internet regarding Nintendo's lack of advertisement for what is supposed to be a big title for them. They decided to try something new this time around, keeping the awe and shock that a triple-A title should bring to those who purchase it under wraps, preserving the surprises that a world of connectivity and instant access to information has made essentially impossible. The decision was for the fans and by not spoiling any of the wonder and gratification, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption provides, the Wii's best game - by far - is also one of its biggest surprises. Third party developers who have scoffed at the Wii as nothing more than an underpowered, casual system - you've just been served.

This game is beyond any shadow of a doubt the best game in the whole of the Metroid series bar none, but I say that with a touch of sadness as Retro apparently have no plans to continue working on the project. Which is a massive shame as they finally seem to have nailed the formula for making Prime great. Time and sales will tell whether or not the studio can be tempted back into making the games, but for the time being Metroid Prime 3 is the best reason to own a Wii if you are into games that you can play on your own. At almost every turn you will find something new – a clever puzzle, a graphical quirk that will leave you staring for a moment or simply something you never saw before. Sure, once it’s over you won’t be coming back again for a month or so, but while it’s happening, it’s the best ride you’ll go on for a long, long time.

Lets not end on a downer, though; this game is too good to let a couple of disappointing aspects prevent it from being an absolute must own game for the Wii. With its wonderful control, consistently superb level design, rewarding puzzles and gorgeous graphics it’s by far and away the best original Wii release since Zelda. At around 15-20 hours, its length is up there with the previous games (providing you keep away from the easiest setting which is stupidly easy, you have been warned), plus the ‘achievement’ style award system for unlocking bonus content means many will feel the need to return once Samus has finished her quest. With this rich, absorbing and rewarding world at our fingertips it’s game like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption that provide a fine example of why we play games in the first place.

If you've never been treated to the delights of a Metroid Prime title (and sales figures of the last two suggests that's most of you) then it's essential that you at least give this a try - and if you liked either of the previous two, it's just plain essential. Corruption is a game which places adventure as a joint priority among the action, and one that will live long in your memory once you're done with it. Quite unlike the slew of generic first-person shooters crowding out the shelves this year, it's a special game that might take a while to appreciate because of the way it does things differently to other games of a similar nature - but once you do unravel its charms, you'll be glad did. Immersive, engaging and with the kind of gameplay depth that so many shooters lack, Metroid Prime 3 might not represent a huge progression as far as the series goes, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the best games I've played all year - and certainly one of best yet on the Wii.

The first two titles were of course groundbreaking for their time and resided on the gone-but-not-forgotten GameCube. Corruption marks the first and last time (probably) we'll see Samus' 3D adventures on the Wii but the game manages to stay true to its predecessors and even refines a few things on the way.

Corruption provides great first-person controls and really takes advantage of the Wii's unique controller setup. The story and production quality are above what is to be expected, and voice work is a much needed addition. However, the game may appear to be too linear for Metroid fanatics, and really is more a first-person shooter than a first-person adventure. Game may also be a bit short for some. Metroid Prime 3: Corruption is the last and most accessible game in the series.

Various tokens can be collected as the game progresses including 'Friends Tokens', which can then - in the spirit of Nintendo's attitude to online gaming - be sent to people, unlocking bonuses and upgrades. At first a neat idea, the fact is that it all seems rather frivolous, and wouldn't have been missed if it had been left out. Considering how polished the rest of the Corruption experience feels, the collection of tokens just seems a little tacked on, and it even could be argued by some of the Metroid Prime hardcore as contrasting to Samus' Bounty Hunter status...selfless acts aren't exactly prevalent in that line of work after all.

I agree, though I'd be hard-pressed to find any elements in the game that are new or original. Considering that the series has a storied history and celebrated status as one of Nintendo's core franchises, this isn't automatically a bad thing. Quite frankly, the developers had lost ground after their initial effort, so Corruption's return to form goes a long way towards making up for the errors last time around. The Good
The music in the game really helps contribute to the mood and feel, whether its a feeling of suspense or action the music excels. The puzzles in the game are great, using your various beams and visors to open doors and examine objects is still fun. The standard difficulty is right on the mark, its easy enough that you'll beat the game but still hard enough that solving a puzzle is satisfying, in addition harder difficulty settings are available. Controlling Samus with the Wii remote and nunchuk works smoothly, shooting and targeting is handled with great precision. The gameplay mix of platforming, puzzling, and shooting is one of the best in the industry.

The Bad
The story is generic it's the standard your the last hope for humanity, its a little annoying but it does not detract from the experience. The replay value is low, once you finish the game theirs not much reason to go back, the unlockable extras such as music tracks that can be played from the main menu and the hyper mode difficulty setting just isn't enough. The lack of online multiplayer is a bit disappointing considering the games length.

The Bottom Line
Metroid Prime 3 is an amazing game and a great end to the metroid prime series, despite having some minor flaws Metroid Prime 3 is still a must buy.
