Moninpeliin on tehty uusia karttoja ja kaksi uutta pelimuotoa, joissa leikitään kukkulan kuningasta ja hallitsijan surmaamista. Arvosanaa laskee vain se, ettei emopelin lukuisille kansoille ole annettu mitään uutta. Aasialaisten jälkeen ei halua enää halua palata vanhojen kansojen pariin.

What we get are three really well-made nations, a thin storyline of about fifteen scenarios and this makes AoE III certainly a better game but the addiction factor of number 2 is still far to be found.

Ja, ich bin etwas enttäuscht, denn wie bei so mancher Gehaltsabrechnung gilt: Da wäre mehr drin gewesen. Die simplen Handlungsstränge und die teils zu langwierigen Missionen verwundern. Das gehz besser! Dennoch 82? Ja, denn die Weltwunder und die "ele-fantastische" Einheitenvielfalt haben mich öfters die Uhr vergessen lassen. Im Skirmish- und Mehrspieler-Modus eine Pracht!

While I found the amount of gameplay to on the short side compared to the original which offered about 25 hours of game time, it’s still entertaining and a very well polished release. It offers a moderate amount of replay value on the harder levels of difficulty, but isn’t as entertaining after you heard the story on the first run-though. The multiplayer does give life to the title and it has also revitalized the number of people playing the original once again. Any fan of the series or general RTS fan should feel confident in picking up this release at a sale price of $20 this holiday season. Also, the Age of Empires III Gold pack is an excellent price for those new to the series as it includes the previous WarChiefs expansion pack.

The stars of the expansion pack are undoubtedly the new military factions; walking onto the battlefield with ninjas, samurai and stampeding elephants is much more exciting than marching out boring, Euro-centric armies of the original title.

The Asian Dynasties ist ein zweischneidiges Schwert. Wer Age of Empires 3 bisher vor allem im Multiplayer spielt und sich über die wenigen Modi ärgert, der sollte schleunigst zugreifen, denn der reintegrierte Königsmord sowie der neue King of The Hill-Modus erhöht den Spassfaktor um ein Vielfaches. Auch die neuen Kulturen machen sich im Mehrspielermodus sehr gut und sind bereits jetzt gut ausbalanciert. Solospieler sollten sich jedoch mehrmals fragen, ob das Gebotene hier wirklich reicht. Am Gameplay wurde leider so gut wie gar nicht gefeilt und die Kampagne ist nicht gerade spannend und abwechslungsreich geraten. Dennoch sind die Asiaten um einiges toller geraten, als die noch blassen und schnöden WarChiefs.

The Age of Empires III: The Asian Dynasties expansion pack requires the original game to work and is entirely backward compatible so you'll be able to see what would happen if Japanese samurai were to get into a fight with French musketeers on the Louisiana bayou. What's incredible is that Big Huge managed to introduce so many fresh ideas to the game yet still maintain the essentially balanced gameplay that remains as addictive as it always was. In short, there's so much content introduced with the Asian Dynasties expansion pack that it practically breathes a whole new game into the existing one, so it's easily worth the sticker price.

Asian Dynasties is another great chapter in the Age of Empires series and one that strategy gamers with a yen for the Far East should definitely investigate. The units are colorful, the combat is exciting, and the story, though not as thrilling as Age 3 or as historically relevant as Age 2, is still strong enough to carry the action. It's true that the missions leave a bit to be desired in terms of but I don't want to come down too harshly on the campaign here because at the end of the day, Asian Dynasties is a heck of a lot of fun. I mean, the elephants alone are worth the price of admission.

Expansions are great for RTS games, and provided the developer doesn't push it too far and introduce an excess of new content that confuses the gamer, they're almost always successful. The Asian Dynasties is a worthwhile addition to the AOE franchise and one that will provide many hours of entertainment for seasoned RTS players as well as newcomers. If you want a detailed list of the improvements, the Wikipedia page is fairly spot-on, but to be honest the most fun I had with this game was just jumping straight in and finding out for myself.

Es wird langsam Zeit für frischen Wind im Echtzeit-Strategiesektor. The Asian Dynasties macht zwar Spaß, aber irgendwie hat man ständig das Gefühl, dass dies doch nicht alles sein kann. Wer Innovationen und Überraschungen sucht, ist hier fehl am Platz. Wer auf Standardkost steht, greift zu.

Rounding things out, The Asian Dynasties looks and sounds great, and the Asian-style graphics are top-notch. The usual AoE polish is firmly in place, and all that familiar gameplay allows old fans to jump right back in and be running in no time. Unfortunately for me, all of this just felt a bit too familiar. For all the exciting new units, the new strategies of the Consulate and Wonders, and the spot-on Eastern feel, I just found myself getting a little tired of the Age of Empires 3 world. Fans of the series will have a blast here, and I’m sure the new content will heat up the multiplayer arenas for months to come. Still, for me at least, Age of Empires 3 is starting to lose its shine, and The Asian Dynasties didn’t really rekindle that flame I felt when I first played it a few years ago.

J'avais adoré le jeu original, j'avais trouvé que la première extension était vraiment faible pour en faire l'achat si on n'était pas un fan inconditionnel de la série, là je dirais que je me trouve entre les deux avec cette deuxième extension. Quelques ajouts m'ont vraiment beaucoup plu, bien que vieux de deux ans on voit que ce jeu continue de procurer beaucoup de plaisir, mais avoir un peu plus de missions dans chaque campagne et pouvoir faire la campagne que l'on désire faire sans se voir imposer un ordre précis m'aurait permis d'être plus généreux. Ce jeu est bon, je pense que c'est un indispensable pour les fans de la série, mais malheureusement ce n'est pas un titre qui sera marquant. Peut-être qu'il est temps de passer à un nouvel opus complet...

Asien macht zwar neugierig, da es für Europäer immer noch so exotisch ist wie der Mond, aber dieser Reiz verfliegt meist rasch. Das gilt auch für The Asian Dynasties, deren frischer Wind sich schnell verflüchtigt. Obwohl es auch ein paar mehr sein könnten, bringen die drei neuen Völker doch etwas neuen Schwung ins Echtzeit-Einerlei, da sie asiatische Tugenden einbringen. Die Chinesen sind emsig, die Japaner gute Streiter und die Inder setzen auf Elefanten. Alle eint aber, dass sie jetzt wieder Wunder errichten müssen, was wahrlich nicht neu ist, aber doch Spaß macht. Wer der Meinung war, Age of Empies 3 könnt ein paar mehr Spielmodi vertragen, wird ebenfalls bedient. So ist das Echtzeit-Strategiespiel vor allem zu mehreren immer noch für eine Partie gut. Letztlich setzt sich jedoch die Erkenntnis durch, dass der große Reiz des Klassikers verflogen ist.

TAD is pricey for an add-on pack, but if you can stomach the cost, there's plenty of succulent, meaty goodness to be had from TAD. Plus it will big up your brain, and that can't be a bad thing for a pony.

Äänissä ei ole valituksen sijaa ja rentouttavia musiikkeja kestää enemmän kuin hyvin ainakin näin lyhyen pelin ajan. Minuksia toteutuksesta ainoastaan edelleenkin tönköille valikoille, esimerkiksi näppäintoimintojen muuttaminen mieleisekseen on luvattoman tuskainen prosessi.

Mimo drobnych wad, „Asian Dynasties” to dodatek lepszy niż „Warchiefs”. Przede wszystkim dlatego, że nowe nacje są potraktowane priorytetowo i kampania stanowi dobrą rozgrzewkę przed trybem online. To chyba dla niego warto kupić ten dodatek, bo niestety poziom trudności jest taki niski, że dla osób, które miały już z „AoE3” styczność, nie będzie stanowił żadnego wyzwania.

Like The WarChiefs expansion from last year, The Asian Dynasties does a good job of introducing distinct new civilizations to Age of Empires III--only this time, instead of Native American tribes, there are three iconic Asian civilizations to play with now. There's a fair amount here to dig into if you're a serious Age of Empires fan or someone who likes Asian civilization.

Routiniert - dieses Wort kommt einem am ehesten in den Sinn, wenn man über die zweite Erweiterung des dritten Age of Empires redet. Im Schwierigkeitsgrad etwas höher angesiedelt als das Hauptspiel, befriedigt der Kampf der asiatischen Dynastien genau die Erwartungen der Fans - und kein Stück weniger. Allerdings gibt's auch kein bisschen mehr: Wer nach positiven Überraschungen optischer oder spielerischer Natur sucht, wird ein wenig enttäuscht sein, denn die sind allenfalls homöopathisch dosiert und fallen nicht ins Gewicht. Dennoch: Wer die Reihe mag und Spaß an anspruchsvollen Strategie-Szenarien hat, kommt wiederum auf seine Kosten, denn die Macher wissen, wie es geht. Daher kommt der Nachschub insgesamt noch "gut" weg.

So, without doubt a must-have for the fans, but anyone with just a passing interest is probably best off waiting for the inevitable Age of Empires III Gold budget collection. That said, in the current fairly quiet RTS times (there's not a lot going on other than the upcoming Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance at the moment) it's worth a look if you're not sure what else to play. Big Huge Games has artfully awoken an RTS in danger of slipping into a coma with a hypo full of big, huge fun.

Les règles si particulières et toute la finesse d’un Medieval Total War 2 ne sont pas les bienvenues ici. Souvenez-vous des archers de Sherwood qui faisaient des dégâts très profonds sur certaines unités à pied. Ils n’allaient pas faire les mêmes sur les cavaliers. Ici, peu importe la qualité de l’unité. Les batailles deviennent un foutoir monstrueux où il est impossible de reconnaitre les unités. Le micro-management repassera. Et c’est bel et bien là le noeud du problème. On peut pardonner pas mal de chose à Age III mais pas le manque d’intérêt des affrontements. Age of Empires correspond plus à un jeu de gestion en temps réel qu’à un jeu de stratégie tactique. Après World in Conflict, c’est tout simplement consternant.
