Even if you're not a fan of the Capcom fighting style or their games, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is one to pick up. The Capcom faces aren't a gimmick at all and simply exist to further showcase one of the best and most fun puzzle concepts ever devised. With some real effort having gone into ensuring the game looks great on any TV and plays well online, this is one of the Xbox Live Arcade games that really needs to be in every collection, especially with the recent decline in classic puzzlers on the console. Now go bust some gems!

Without question, SPF2THDR is one of the higher-profile titles to enter the XBLA catalog, and it comes with a great price tag for what it offers. No, it won’t be for everyone, but for the player who wants to jump into something different or who already knows the Super Puzzle Fighter gameplay and wants to enjoy it on the Xbox 360, this is a wonderful addition.

On top of all this timeless goodness, the icing on the cake is the remodelled, sharpened-up graphics (with character art from Udon Comics), new special effects, online play in every mode, some evil achievements to go for, and, of course, online leaderboards. The real mark of greatness for a game like this, though, is just how much fun it is offline against the CPU. It's not even as if you need a pal for it to be fun. It's just a cracking little game that will be just as addictive in ten year's time as it was when it first came out. Puzzle Fighter is yet another reason to rejoice the growth in downloadable games, and regardless of whether you play it on the 360, the PS3, or on the recently issued PSP compilation Capcom Puzzle World, it's one of those games you really ought to have in your collection.

Here's something you never here in a review -- it's easy to pick up and play yet still has a lot of depth for die-hard fans to keep coming back for more. That may be typical, but hey if the shoe fits...

In the end, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD is one of longest titles available on the Arcade, and one of the best. The simple to understand, but hard to master, style of gameplay and solid online experience makes this an easy choice for best puzzler on the Arcade.

As a whole, on first glance this game isn’t an arcade game I would usually buy but after playing about five short games then yes, I would buy it. It looks good, it plays well, it’s easy to pick up and the Street fighter theme compliments the puzzling gameplay. If you hate Street fighter but love these types of puzzles then go ahead and buy it, but if you love Street fighter and are not keen on these types of puzzles I would move along, if you love both, what are you waiting for?

As always, the LIVE price point makes this a good game to pick up - it goes for 800 points, or around $10. The other selling point for me is the ability to play two player locally instead of being forced to only play on LIVE. If you had the points to do it, there is nothing that should turn you away from this game if you were into puzzles and looking to challenge others at them. Just watch out for my Shoryuken.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is most definitely addicting. At times, I found myself with sore eyes as I refused to blink during particularly intense matches. How often does that happen with a downloadable game? Not often enough. Although the Xbox 360 d-pad isn't the best choice for puzzle games, it works well enough that this game is still a great deal of fun. Give it a shot.

Mit diesem Titel hat Capcom uns wahrlich eine Spielspaßgranate in die Xbox LIVE Arcade gestellt. Ist es alleine noch ganz unterhaltsam und vor allem für Trainingszwecke geeignet geht in geselliger Runde mit zwei bis vier Teilnehmern die Post ab! Es macht einfach riesigen Spaß seinem Gegner einen Riesenklotz auf sein Spielfeld zu schicken, nur um ihm kurze Zeit später mit einem fulminanten Special Move den Garaus zu machen.

In the end this game is a lot of fun, even if you play it alone. This is a more expensive game than most Xbox Live Arcade releases. The graphical updates, online play and extra modes from the original release more than make up for the $10 price.

Aesthetic complaints aside, Puzzle Fighter is still one of the greatest puzzle games ever developed, and the addition of X` mode and online play makes this the definitive version of Capcom's cult classic. The only way it can't be recommended is if you really have a strong hatred for puzzle games, and even then, this is the kind of game that can change minds. Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix is one of the better games you can pick up off of Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Network.

"Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix" is the most ridiculous, convoluted name for a game, ever. However, thankfully the game itself doesn't fall into the same trap. It's a beautiful new remake made by loving fans, and whilst the updates are subtle, they are almost certainly sure to be appreciated. However, the extreme difficulty and very high standards of people playing online, combined with the prohibitively high pricing may put all but the most hardcore Street Fighter fanatics off what is still undoubtedly one of the best remakes that XBL have seen to date.

The biggest complaint lodged against the title is that the characters battling in the center of the action are merely blown up sprites and not remastered in HD like the rest of the game. While the sprites do stand out amid the polished look of the rest of the game, it really isn't that big of a deal. To me, the blown up sprites gives it that retro feel. It's unfortunate that the uninitiated might be quick to shrug off Super Puzzle Fighter due to those old, cute looking bitmaps. They'd be missing one hell of XBLA time-waster.

Abgedrehtes Gehirnjogging: Die Kämpfer aus den »Street Fighter«- und »Darkstalkers«-Reihen, gemeinsam in einem Puzzlespiel, das hat schon 1996 in der Spielhalle klasse funktioniert. Und tut's in der aufgebohrten HD-Variante auf Xbox Live wieder. Das Gameplay erinnert an »Tetris«: Man wählt einen von acht Kämpfern und findet sich mit einem Widersacher in einer »Arena« wieder. Die besteht letztlich aus zwei gegenübergestellten Bechern, in denen man fleißig herabfallende Kristalle sortiert, dreht und stapelt. Zerstören lassen sich die Klunker mit Hilfe so genannter Crash-Steine — der eigene Berg wird kleiner, der des Gegners größer. Bei wem das »Bauwerk« zuerst über den oberen Rand hinaus wächst, verliert. Spielt sich gut, sieht herrlich bunt aus, und ist mit den Spielmodi der Dreamcast-Version bestens ausgestattet. Abgerundet wird das Ganze durch einen Mehrspieler-Modus an einer Konsole oder via Xbox Live. 800 Points, warum nicht?

It's a shame the characters didn't get a little graphical-update love, but it's hard to argue with Puzzle Fighter's gameplay. It plays well both online and off, and has enough options to keep you interested for a good chunk of time. The price seems a little steep on either platform, but especially on the Xbox Live Arcade where most other arcade classics go for $5 instead of $10, but even at twice the price, it's still a reasonable value.
