Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles
Description official descriptions
Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is a remake of Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. The remake features 3D graphics, though the gameplay is largely identical to the 2D platform style of the original. It also adds a Boss Rush mode that unlocks a minigame when completed three times.
The original version of the game as well as Castlevania: Symphony of the Night are included as unlockable content. This version of Symphony of the Night allows the player to control Maria as the protagonist (like in the earlier Saturn version) and also has new sound effects and voice acting. This version of Symphony of the Night sticks closer to the Japanese PlayStation release of the game as it still lacks the Saturn exclusive areas.

A wonderful remake of Rondo of Blood
The Good
It's a remake of Rondo of Blood! Finally, it became available outside Japan in 2007. The 3D graphics are pretty good. The soundtrack is awesome. The controls are somewhat limited, but very responsive. The sound effect are pretty good too. The story is nothing complicated, but it's fine. The overall gameplay experience is really good! It's fun and challenging. The game can be frustrating, but with practice, it's possible to master it and then it's extremely fun! There are a few unlockables like music tracks that you can assign freely to the stages. Even from the other games! Yes, Symphony of the Night and the original Rondo of Blood are both unlockable. I love that!
The Bad
Sometimes it's frustrating, and the controls are limited, but it gives a fair amount of challenge. The english voice acting is mixed bag (you can choose Japanese if you want).
You need to unlock the other games from the remake, they're not available from the start.
The Bottom Line
It's a must for all Castlevania fans! Wonderful game, 3 in 1 package! Quality in all aspects and challenging enough for hardcore fans. For the inpatients and casuals, it's recommended to avoid this game. It's difficult and frustrating sometimes. If you like difficult, quality platformers, get this game! Also, it has two other games.

Trivia
Intro
Like the "legendary" intro of the TurboGrafx CD version, this 3D remake of Rondo of Blood also received a spoken intro text in German. While the original version was read by one Hans-Günther Claude, the voice actor in the remake is Hans-Dieter Klebsch. Klebsch is professional stage actor known for dubbing Hugh Laurie in the German version of Dr House, among other roles. The new German intro text, although similar in content, differs from the original version and is grammatically more polished. Here is the remake's German text and a literal translation into English:
(Translation)
A long time ago, men lived happily and content.
Nobody noticed the shadow that spread slowly over them.
Darkness dulled their senses and Evil dug deeply into their souls.
Driven by insanity, they forged a pact with the devil.
They convened at late hours to call upon the forces of Darkness through their sinful blood
To deliver them from their mortal existence, the dawn of a new world before their eyes.
And thus it occurred that after a hundred years Evil became flesh again.
As an immortal being of the night it can take on the form of wolf, bat or mist.
It feeds on the blood of men.
Dracula, the Lord of Darkness, Lord of the Devil's Castle, has risen again.
