Wii Game Party has a bar room feel to it and the characters are modeled after young adults. These characters aren’t as cute as the Wii’s Miis, nor are they customizable, so they are less appealing to younger players. Wii Game Party is rated E for Everyone. Parents won’t find much to be offended about other than the occasional pout on a character’s face when she doesn’t get a point. This set of games is fun to play occasionally, especially with other players. It’s ideal for when you want to play skill games that don’t require extensive learning. Players can quickly learn what to do and start playing. For the price, the game isn't bad, especially for younger players, as there is virtually no learning curve for some of the games (most notably, darts). It truly favors groups. Overall, however, the game is uninspired and doesn't have much personality.

What else is there say? Game Party does feature up to four players, but I doubt any of your friends will really want to get involved. In fact, you shouldn't either. Though Game Party is fun for a couple of hours and only runs for around 20 dollars, there are just so many better alternatives out there to choose from. Wii Sports, Wii Play, WarioWare, and even the generic Carnival Games, (no comma) all make far better purchases than this dud. Game Party basically proves that the Wii does not need any more of these types of games plaguing it. Over half of the titles on Nintendo's innovative machine have been either mini-game centered or poorly crafted ports from the PlayStation 2. Will this realization stop developers from producing these lazy games? Sadly, no. So, the conclusion is this: you got a free game with your Wii when you bought it right? Just play that.

Game Party sits right along with the dozens upon dozens of titles out there that aim directly for ignorant shoppers; it's box art bait, plain and simple. Do the games work? Despite some odd control issues and annoying bugs, yes, they technically work. Are they fun? Not really, and the lack of polish can be infuriating. There's no Mii integration, no real reason to replay the games (unless you want 175 playable characters instead of 125, and we know you do), and no single person on the planet - friend or enemy - that we'd recommend this one for. If you're looking for a somewhat worthy design akin to Game Party, pick up Carnival Games, or go with something like Wii Play. The former has a ton of customization and a decent style, while the latter includes a free controller along with your kick in the crotch.

Voici la preuve qu'un Party-Game n'est pas nécessairement bon s'il sort sur une console conçue pour cela. Le cas présent est un exemple de pauvreté à tous les étages. Il n'atteint même pas le stade de distraction et s'avère être hors de prix, même pour 30 euros. La concurrence n'a aucun souci à se faire, Game Party est bien le pire jeu du genre sur Wii.

Remember all those stories about people having so much fun playing Wii Sports that they accidentally threw their remote through their TV screen? Game Party inspires the old-fashioned kind of controller-chucking.

While the game has “style,” it is pretty much broken. The only game with any depth is trivia, and while that can be fun, it’s not worth a purchase. The Wii does not need another worthless collection of broken mini-games.

GamesRadar (2 out of 10) (20%)

With an eye toward putting on some beer goggles to make the game better, we turned to the bottle. Ping Cup has the potential to be a decent drinking game but, again, the controls were mixed. We’d get on a roll and string a few sinkers only to have a bunch of shots go unexplainably wild. At least Game Party is easy on the wallet and that makes it a bit easier to forgive Midway for mucking up some of our favorite bar games.

According to the back of the box, Game Party is "The Ultimate Party Experience". No it isn't. The Ultimate Party Experience would involve fun and laughter and everyone you've ever wanted to get off with turning up and offering to buy you a drink, even though they're free. The Game Party experience is like going to a party where there's nothing to drink but Tesco Value brandy and there are only four other guests and they're all racist and then your ex turns up and gets off with a Danish supermodel. Would you pay GBP 19.99 to go to that party?

There are no redeeming qualities to be found here; just the feeling of anger and madness that you get from the fact that Nintendo let this trash appear on their console. A very unfunny joke in every way, I can't even look at Game Party without thinking of the hours of my life that I lost while reviewing it - truly atrocious.
