Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action is a must-have for families and friends alike. This game is sure to be a party necessity, especially if you’re surrounded by movie fanatics. Scene It offers many hours of gameplay, and the inclusion of all four controllers in the standard box makes it easily worth its price tag.

Scene It is a fantastic move by Microsoft. Considering the 360 is seen as primarily a “hardcore” console, it’s great for them to introduce a game that casual or even non-gamers are sure to love. Most casual gamers probably won’t have four controllers, so it was another smart move to bundle four Scene It-specific controllers into the package. The game itself features a ton of movie trivia that anyone can enjoy, and it takes about two seconds to explain each minigame to those who haven’t played it. This game is a great purchase for anyone with non-gamer friends.

A nice side effect from playing Scene It is that it makes you want to go back and watch a movie you haven’t seen in a long time or even check out an older film you had never heard of before. (Caveman is going straight into my Netflix queue, btw). The only things that trip Scene It up is that it’s almost twice as expensive as the other editions of the game and, with no online play, you can only really play it occasionally when friends are over and in the mood. Otherwise, this is an excellent party game that anyone can get into.

So if you’re looking for a great party game this holiday season, and you happen to like movies, there isn’t anything better than Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action. Even by yourself, the game provides a lot of fun, but it gets even better when you play with others. If you’ve always been interested in Scene It? but don’t have it yet, this is a great opportunity to do so.

The puzzles offer different challenges, so there really is something for everyone. With several hundred different question sets, it is possible to play this game several times without repeating questions. The next logical step for this game is to continue in the steps of its board game counterpart: create a version of the game based on genres or TV shows or other cult classics, create a second version of the original, or come out with generational versions like movies from the 90’s. Overall, the game is very enjoyable and a good attempt at bringing a new crowd onboard to the Xbox scene.

Plain and simple, “Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action” is a great party game for the Xbox 360. With an extremely large number of questions, support for DLC, decent presentation, and four specialized controllers included in the box, the price of admission is definitely worth it. The only thing missing is an online multiplayer mode. Those looking for a way to spend an evening with friends or family in front of the TV cannot go wrong purchasing “Scene It?” for the 360 as it is allows for more then just mindless watching of the screen.

If you’re a fan of movie trivia, the original Scene It? board game then Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action is must have. Microsoft has picked the perfect board game to translate into the consoles format, and they have done it by adding more value to the product then its DVD format. Over 1’800 questions, HD content, and four new Big Button Controllers is enough to justify Scene It's modest price tag. Scene It? on the Xbox 360 fills the void of much needed party styled games on the console which life can only be extended with the eventual addition of downloadable content.

The Party Mode throws four players immediately into an infinite quiz, removing all cutscenes and randomising activities. It's a nice touch that is perfect for leaving on at a party for people to come along and drop in or out of. And that's Scene It? in a nutshell. It's a game with a simple format that is executed really well. The presentation isn't anything flash, but the pace is pretty spot-on; you can skip through most of the between-round cutscenes, the number of questions and variety of styles is perfect for full-time film buffs and part-time gamers.

Nearly anyone can plop down on couch and get enjoyment out of Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action in a party setting, which makes this Microsoft/Screenlife collaborative a success. But for the game and franchise to have any legs on the Xbox 360, downloadable content and some form of Live tie-in is a must. With no signs of either Live support or DLC (neither feature is tagged in the game’s feature list), there’s a chance that the game disc will be a cutting room floor remnant, and the Big Button Pads will be reduced to infrared doorstoppers, once that inaugural Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action party has ended.

While Scene It? is only just full enough of movie quizzing to hold up for several parties, it's a near-perfect translation from tabletop to 360 and, in fact, probably plays more closely to what its original creators intended. So unless you simply can't imagine Scene It? without the palpable, tangible drawing-of-cards and moving of game pieces and tallying of points -- board games do have a certain charm, to be sure -- Scene It? for 360 is all the more engaging, with none of the piddling details to distract you from, you know, playing the game.

That being said, as far as quiz based multiplayer games go, Scene it! Lights, Camera, Action does exactly what it says on the tin. The game randomises questions perfectly, so the same puzzles rarely crop and the Wireless controllers are a joy to use. However, unless Microsoft adds further games to the series, or even downloadable content, both the game and controllers will inevitably have a limited life-span.

All in all, Scene It? is a very good game that brings something new to the Xbox 360's crowded holiday lineup. It might seem a bit steep to shell out 60 dollars for a trivia game, but you get your money's worth, and not just because of the controllers. The game tracks what questions it has asked you, and there's a lot of content (you can play four games without even seeing all the puzzle types and there are over 1,800 questions), so you shouldn't run into repeat questions for a while. Even repeat questions aren't much of a problem because you'll need all the help you can get to earn some of the game's achievement points, which have a knack for getting you to mutter that ominous phrase "Just one more game, I can get it this time!" You'll certainly get the most enjoyment out of Scene It? if you're really into film, but even casual movie fans will find a lot to like here.

The popular Scene It? DVD game makes its way to the Xbox 360 with the release of Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action. Microsoft's Scene It? game is a fun entry level party game that is suitable for teens to adults that have an affinity for movie trivia. While you can play the game with your trusty Xbox 360 controller, it comes with four big button buzzer controllers (Xbox 360 Big Button Pads) color coded so each player knows who they are on the screen for less confusion.

Scene It? is a lot of fun, it does pretty much what it says on the box, and does it pretty well. There are one or two flaws, like the cut scenes and the god awful announcer who you will want to punch after a few games. Thankfully with this being a party game, it’s not the sort of thing you will be playing all night every night anyway. As a game for all the family and friends it works really well. It certainly won’t be out of place in a tame family Sunday afternoon gathering or a bit of a carpet trashing beerfest when the pubs kick out. For movie buffs it will prove an irresistible lure and provide more than enough entertainment even if your life doesn’t revolve around knowing who was in the Predator suit before the guy who appears in the movies.

Scene It? Lights, Camera, Action is an easy and fun party game for film buffs. Gamers who sniff out Achievements like truffle-hunting pigs will also go nuts for the remarkably easy Gamerscore padding that this game offers. Unlike the DVD game, you've got buzzers included in the package and HD-quality images and video clips, and you won't have to deal with board game pieces. The interstitial presentation is a bit boring and bland, and using multiple gamer profiles to play can be a bit of a pain to set up, but otherwise, it's an enjoyable trivia game that movie geeks can easily sink into and enjoy.

Don't expect this game to knock your socks off. However, it is the best Scene It? released to date for any platform, and it will easily replace the DVD versions you might own. The inclusion of the Big Button Pad controllers probably makes it worth the $60 price tag. However, there isn't $60 worth of quality gameplay in the title alone. Fortunately, additional downloadable content, and automatic question tracking will keep gameplay fresh and re-playability high. This is by no means the best game out there, but you will have fun with family and friends. This is the perfect game for Thanksgiving evenings and lazy Friday nights when you don't feel like facing the crowds or spending the $50 on dinner and a movie.

Scene It? isn’t going to blow up anyone’s skirt as revolutionizing the way you play games, nor does it pack any kind of visual punch, but that doesn’t take anything away from the undeniable fact that it’s a very fun game to play with a group of friends. Is it worth the 60 dollar entry fee? Given that a regular game of Scene It? is going to run you 40 bucks from a retail store, I’d say, yes. You get hundreds more questions, four controllers (even if they have ripped off Buzz’s design), and the real kicker is that the Xbox 360 varies the 1,800 questions much better than a standard DVD player. Movie buffs, the game for you has arrived.

If your party has grown bored of countless Mario Parties, Rock Bands, Mario Karts, and Haloz, you can have an awesome time with this game, if you have the right people around you. Mind you, for what the game offers, it delivers, and it delivers everything you should expect, and nothing more. The game saves all seen questions to your gamer profile, and with 1,800 questions, the chances of seeing a repeat should be quite slim for a while. And while the tease of DLC for the game lingers, at press time the game will have been out for five months, and not a scrap of content for the game has been made available. Sad, but true. Lights, Camera, Action is a fun party game, as long as you and your friends are into the subject material. And that’s the jist of it.

(...) Sagen wir's so: Es gibt viel, ganz viel Raum fĂŒr Verbesserungen. In a decent little package, Microsoft has managed to gather a nice little bundle that will no doubt be the beginning of a series of “Scene It’s.” Now, you won’t hear about this game breaking any sales records, but it still provides movie buffs and party-goers a fun little diversion after the small talk ends and things start to get awkward. It’s worth the $60 full price if you intend to have groups of people over that are willing to play. If you are hard up for company or friends, proceed with caution; the lack of AI and Xbox Live play is a HUGE let down and certainly a missed opportunity. Where Scene It? disappoints, however, is in its presentation. Though the pace of the game is appreciated, it would have been nice to see more than a simple sequence of questions with little in between. Buzz!'s TV quiz formula definitely steals the show in this respect. The complete removal of the board-game elements, ensures that most of the original game's sense of strategy and luck are completely lost. In their place, success relies totally and utterly on film knowledge, which stands to unbalance the game when a family of varying trivia levels plays together.

While it is a fairly simple game to play, it is one that is enjoyable in a group setting where you can show off your movie knowledge and let the score speak for you. The game offers many different types of challenges for players. While some do not quiz specifically on the movie but rather minute details such as how many items were in a particular scene, the game still works and offers an enjoyable time. The game offering both structured play and a party mode give you an option to break out the game and allow for set players or a more drop in an answer type setting. I was worried, when I first heard of the plans to bring the game out, that it might be a bit gimmicky. However, I find myself enjoying the game a great deal and look forward to breaking it out when friends come to visit. All in all, you cannot go wrong with a quality title like this that brings gamers and non-gamers together in a battle of trivia knowledge.

Even Scene It's scoring system is flawed. During the final round, the point values are multiplied by each correct answer. If you're familiar with the movie in question, it's possible to score more points on one question than you earned in the entire game! Bogus! Who was the bonehead who designed this thing anyway? There are some technical issues as well, like pause screens that won't let you select anything except "resume".
