Capcom's third RE game is not the best of the bunch, but it does pack a wallop when it needs to. This game won five awards in 2000 including Game Design and Game of the Year.

At any rate, while other recently ported Capcom titles such as Dino Crisis are judged a little more harshly against today's standards, Resident Evil 3 Nemesis remains a very worthwhile game even though not much has been added to the translation. If you've already played the original, there's little reason to pick this one up, but if you haven't yet, you should. While Resident Evil 3 Nemesis may not be the definitive product in the Resident Evil series, it's still a very good game that's experienced only slight wear over time.

Nemesis takes a bold step forward in terms of atmosphere and gameplay from the first two in the series (RE1 and RE2).

RE: CV was the title that was supposed to launch the RE franchise onto the next generation consoles, and it did its job well, taking the PSX engine and making it perform better than ever. But at a time when the Dreamcast is entering its second generation of games, the PS2 is up and running, and innovative survival horror games like Devil May Cry (from Capcom, no less) are on the horizon, this just seems like a huge step backwards. And what is the next RE title we have to look forward to? A revamp of RE2! With only a slight improvement in graphics and a couple of nifty options, the true replay value of this game comes from what was already there: solid game play, intense difficulty, and branching story lines. If you have the PSX version, then you already have this. I can only recommend this game for newcomers to the title, and for RE zealots who simply must have every version they can get their hands on.

Despite having played through the PlayStation version, I still thoroughly enjoyed Resident Evil 3: Nemesis on the Dreamcast. The slightly newer look, added options, and all the classic RE gameplay are enough for me to recommend this game to expert RE players -- and those that have never played the PS version should really give this game a shot. Now, the only problem is, what will you have Jill Valentine wear?

Although many will be disappointed another quick PlayStation port has found its way onto the Dreamcast, it's difficult to find much fault with Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It delivers everything which made the original Resident Evil so fantastic but on a bigger and grander scale. At a budget price, it's difficult to go wrong with this unless you already own it on PSX.

Meristation (8 out of 10)

Jill Valentine is hot! She could take down the likes of Lara Croft any day of the week. The Nemesis is one cute guy as well. Keeping the survival horror beast alive on the Dreamcast is an easy task for Capcom as four titles now populate the system. In this version, Capcom unloads eight costumes for Jill from the get-go. The game also provides the entertaining Mercenaries game initially – it was only available after beating the game in the original. RE3 is still very fresh in my mind from its PS-X Appearance, but I was still engrossed in the hectic battle with the Nemesis. Just like Dino Crisis and RE 2, this game gets the $20 price tag and I think it's worth every penny. Well, it's worth it if you are an RE newbie. Code: Veronica is far superior to this game in every way, but RE3 is still one of my favorites on any system.

Resident Evil 3 – Nemesis bietet gewohnt solide Kost.

Gamer's Pulse (79 out of 100)

Overall I'm afraid to say that I'm glad to get this game out of the way. The story, entertaining as it may be, is quite predictable and not that interesting. The gameplay is tired and boring and sometimes downright tedious, and after a while Nemesis really gets on your nerves. The beast just doesn't know when to quit. Most of the human characters are just zombie treats more often than not, and none of them are really interesting - some of them I was just glad to see die. Personally, by the time I finished the game I was just burnt out on the whole Resident Evil experience. Still, a real change to the same tired formula would do a world of good, and I'm not talking about just a jump to full 3D. Come on Capcom, give us a game we will remember the next day. The sheer amount of gaming to be had here is still worth the price though.

DC owners have already had months of joy with the wonderful Code Veronica, and this isn't in the same league. Graphics are only tarted up slightly from the PS version, and extra-costumes and a mini-game don't really make up for his. That said, it's still a cool game, and i you're a Resi-nut, it's well worth it. Otherwise, go and buy Code Veronica now, you fools.
