Ääni- ja kuvamaailma Evolutionissa on melko suoraviivaista ja funktionalistista ilman mitään ylimääräistä, mikä ei varsinaiseen ajamiseen liity. Pelissä onkin keskitytty olennaiseen ja tehty se hyvin. Race 07 -omistajille GTR Evolutionia myydään myös lisäosana, mutta SimBinin peleihin tutustumattomille tämä itsenäinen pelipaketti on erittäin hyvä tapa päästä sisään ruotsalaisten näkemykseen realistisesta autosimulaatiosta. Mikäli hyllystä löytyy jo useampi yhtiön peli, kannattaa katsastaa Evolutionin auto- sekä ratalista ja pohtia, tarjoaako paketti hintansa verran uutta sisältöä.

If SimBin had dubbed its latest racer "GTR Revolution," I'd take issue...but that isn't the case. Evolution evolves the series, and it does so wonderfully. I suspect a future follow-up will involve a complete overhaul, but until then, GTR Evolution -- and Nordschleife in particular -- is where every good driver should be.

So, while evolutionary in nature, SimBin has presented us with yet another most excellent racing sim. GTR Evolution in and of itself is complete justification for the cost of a good PC and a force feedback steering wheel. I’m using the venerable Logitech G25 myself, but if dollars are limited any of the lower cost Logitech force feedback wheels will suffice.

GTR Evolution is a deep and complex racing game with tons of great elements. While there are a few problems that have been around in previous entries, like a missing career mode and rather weak vehicle damage, this is still a worthy incremental improvement over the rest of the series, and a fine addition to any hardcore racing-sim fan’s PC library.

Insgesamt lockt der anspruchsvolle Mattscheibenflitzer mit über 300 oiginalgetreuen Autos und 33 authentischen Rennstrecken.

Fans of this series are clearly set to enjoy this expansion with Nurburgring making a welcome entrance into the fold. As a bundle, the retail box comes with both Evolution and Race 07 and is set to become a good start to the year for racing fans. Highly recommended.

Zwar macht man bei der Hauptsache - dem Fahrgefühl - alles richtig, doch sollte das Spiel auch genau so genial aussehen, wie es sich fährt und klingt, denn die Motoren hören sich fantastisch an und werden nur durch die schwachen Soundeffekte bei Kollisionen getrübt. Trotzdem: GTR Evolution bietet ein hervorragendes Gesamtpaket für Freunde des anspruchsvollen virtuellen Motorsports! Wer bereits Race 07 besitzt, macht jedoch einen großen Bogen um den "Quasi-Nachfolger", der unverständlicherweise zum Vollpreis angeboten wird, obwohl der integrierte Vorgänger mittlerweile zum Budget-Preis von etwa 15 Euro rausgehauen wird. Hier ist es sinnvoller, trotz der nicht vollkommen akkurat nachmodellierten Nordschleife auf das günstigere Erweiterungspaket für Race 07 zurückzugreifen, mit dem ihr euer Spiel auf den Inhalt von GTR Evolution aufstocken könnt.

In conclusion GTR Evolution is definitely one of the better racing games on the PC that mixes realism with a touch of arcade action as you race a variety of real-world cars on a plethora of different tracks from around the world. The control system is perfect with a wheel and it also supports both keyboard and joypad for users who do not have this device available. Any complaints? Not from this reviewer and if you are after a game that is almost on league with the Gran Turismo series, GTR Evolution is truly an evolutionary racing experience.

RACE 07 fans that are craving the ultimate challenge should purchase Evolution if for no other reason then to experience the famous "green hell" of Nrburgring. The good news is that the retail box comes with both RACE 07 and Evolution; it's a great value for a great racing game.

RACE 07 to nie produkcja dla wszystkich. Fani symulacji znajdą tu wszystko czego potrzebują, a modyfikacje stworzone przez fanów dopełnią luki. Zresztą, wielbiciele hardcore’owych symulacji i tak już od dawna ten tytuł posiadają. Co z resztą graczy? Dzięki możliwym do zastosowania ułatwieniom jest to także znakomita produkcja dla początkujących adeptów sztuki symulacji. Można tu stopniowo wkraczać na kolejne kręgi piekła, niespiesznie testować wszystkie pojazdy i ich ustawienia. Potrzeba jednak sporo samozaparcia, by nie zrezygnować po kolejnym bączku. Gracze, którzy szukają tu mechaniki i emocji spod znaku serii Need for Speed i podobnych nie znajdą tu zbyt wiele dla siebie.

Jawohl, GTR Evolution wurde sinnvoll um zusätzliche Inhalte erweitert, um es für Fans interessant werden zu lassen. Etwas merkwürdig fand ich jedoch den Schritt der Entwickler, mit der WTCC-Extreme eine Fantasieklasse ins Spiel zu integrieren. Und dann dürfen die Schweden mir auch noch erklären, warum das Spiel überhaupt GTR im Namen hat, wenn es doch auf Race 07 aufsetzt. Das habe ich ganz ehrlich gesagt überhaupt nicht verstanden. Die Nordschleife erhält übrigens erstmals seit Grand Prix Legends offiziell Einzug in eine Rennsimulation, zuletzt sah man sie nur als von Moddern erstellte Strecke im Spiel. Sehr schön! Denn wenn schon Rennsportsimulation, dann mit der berüchtigten grünen Hölle bitteschön.

GTR Evolution is een uiterst compleet racegame dat de hardcore racefanaten zeker zal aanspreken. Je kan er duidelijk niet naast kijken dat het spel een gedateerd uiterlijk heeft, maar de toegevoegde FIA GT- en GT2-klassen plus enkele exclusieve sportwagens compenseren dit ruimschoots. Allerbelangrijkste toevoeging blijft veruit de Nordschleife, die heel gedetailleerd en realistisch in beeld wordt gebracht. Racefanaten moeten dit racespel kopen voor de Nordschleife, terwijl al de andere gamers met GTR Evolution gewoon een dijk van een racegame in huis halen.

Selten hat mir ein Spiel so viele Schmerzen zugefügt. Großartig! Schon fünf Runden auf der Nordschleife ergeben einen allerfeinsten Muskelkater - den beinharten Force-Feedback-Effekten und dem detailgetreuen Streckenprofil sei Dank. GTR Evolution liefert spannende Schwerstarbeit für Geist und Körper, vernachlässigt dabei aber Simbin-typisch das Spiel. Denn so viel Freude Motorsportpuristen am genialen Fahrverhalten und den endlosen Tuning-Möglichkeiten haben, so wenig werden Spaßfahrer die Lust verspüren, sich durch Massen an Menüs von Rennen zu Rennen hangeln. Was bringt da ein Arcade-Modus ohne Meisterschaft? Aber Profi-Rennfahrer gucken den sowieso nur mit dem Heck an und dürfen sich erneut über eine hochklassige Simbin-Simulation freuen.

Een leuke zoethouder die het beste van GTR2 combineert met RACE07. Maar we wachten vol spanning af op wat nog komen gaat.

GTR Evolution ist also doch keine echte Revolution. Auf der einen Seite glänzen Fahrverhalten und Sound, auf der anderen Seite enttäuscht die Optik. Eine "gute" Fahrt ist trotzdem garantiert.

Dass Simbin sein Handwerk versteht und exzellente Rennspiele programmieren kann, hat Race 07 vor gut einem Jahr wie so oft gezeigt. Der vorliegende Spross der Schweden enttäuscht in Sachen Preis-Leistung, da es sich eigentlich lediglich um ein Add-on für die betagte Rennsimulation handelt, das bei uns nur im Bundle zusammen mit dem Hauptspiel erscheint. Klar, das schmälert den Spielspaß in keiner Weise, denn noch immer fordern die Ausflüge auf die Pisten sowohl Anfänger als auch Profis heraus. Und die neuen Flitzer sowie die Nordschleife ergänzen das bisherige Paket optimal. Trotzdem hätte ich mir gewünscht, dass Simbin wie angekündigt etwas Neues auf die Spieler loslässt. Aber na ja, vielleicht klappt das ja im kommenden Jahr ...

GTR Evolution voelt aan als het meest complete en laatste deel uit een reeks realistische racesims. Ik kan me daarom niet aan de indruk onttrekken dat het volgende deel niet zomaar een evolutie zal zijn, maar een revolutie. Dit is ook wel nodig, want Evolution begint zeker op grafisch gebied wat gedateerd aan te voelen. Dit is natuurlijk geen reden om de game te laten liggen. GTR Evolution brengt met de talloze op waarheid beruste auto's en circuits een totaalpakket aan content met zich mee waar je U tegen zegt. Belangrijkste toevoeging is natuurlijk de overtuigend neergezette Nordschleife. Een circuit waarvan je als racesim fan simpelweg elke bocht uit je hoofd moet hebben geleerd.

In the proper hands, the game can be a breeding ground for racing bliss. GTR Represents racing simulation realism at its absolute best, even if that means it sacrifices accessibility and broader appeal for general gamers. At a price of $19.99, you certainly can’t get much better than this.

Not that winning is all that important in GTR: Evo. The reason this game and its predecessors perch atop their genre is they make every sweet passing move, crisply negotiated corner and shaved second feel like a podium finish. When correcting a slide at Druids or coming in ninth in the rain at Anderstorp makes you smile like a driver that's just beaten his arch-nemesis/cyborg half-brother to win the World Championship and heard his chief engineer/father-substitute has survived a risky heart op, you know you're in the presence of class.

GTR Evolution is a good sim racer that fans should be happy to have. For its $19.99 price tag, you get a lot of content and replayability. If you’re looking for a racer that grinds on the gears and packs in the nitrous, you best look elsewhere. However if you want a real simulation with impressive graphics to spend hours on, GTR Evolution delivers in spades.

The cars handle as they should, the multiplayer works well (even if you do get idiotic drivers who crash the first corner and then make it their aim of ramming you off the track), and the game’s sound-design is worth noticeable mention. It’s difficult to consider the game as an ‘evolution,’ more a continuation. If you’re into your racing sims, then feel free to grab it, otherwise you’ll be hard pressed to get significant playtime out of it.

GTR Evolution to dobre rozszerzenie do Race 07, aczkolwiek absolutnie niewarte swojej ceny. 60 złotych za 3 tory i 30 nowych samochodów to kpina. Fanom serii Race radzę wstrzymać się z kupnem, natomiast graczom, którzy nie mieli jeszcze styczności z tymi świetnymi symulatorami, polecam zaopatrzyć się w Złotą Edycję tejże produkcji (Race 07 + GTR Evolution + ładnie wydany album) za niecałe 100 zł. Trzeba tylko pamiętać o jednym: jeśli dla Ciebie wyścigi kojarzą się tylko z NFS, Trackmanią czy FlatOutem - nie podchodź. Oszczędzisz frustracji.
