What you get with Test Drive Le Mans is the most solid GBC racing title to date. The features are thick, the gameplay is deep, and the level of replay isn't contrived. Visually, some innovation might have been nice, but the game excels at what it does regardless. The lack of a two-player mode is a bit off-putting, but considering everything Le Mans brings to the table, such an omission isn't fatal.

I honestly can't wait to see what this team will be able to accomplish with the Game Boy Advance hardware -- these guys are pushing the Color hardware as far as it can go, it seems. The only real downside to Le Mans is the play balancing -- the sluggish controls really hurt the fun factor. A gamer can be wowed so much from a great game engine -- but it's the playability that keeps him going. If the controls were tighter it would make for an awesome game -- maybe even the best on the Game Boy Color. But as it is, it's merely "good." But it's MUCH better than the last two Test Drive's on the Game Boy Color, that's for sure.

Zwar sind die Grafikroutinen hier nicht ganz so makellos wie bei Wacky Races, dafür tummeln sich öfter mal mehr Fahrzeuge gleichzeitig auf dem Screen und der Rennablauf gestaltet sich herausvordernder (für jede Strecke werden 20 Konkurrenten simuliert), Boxenstopps inkl. Fahrzeugtuning (insgesamt 10 offizielle Karossen), wechselnde Weiterbedingungen - auf all das müsst ihr euch jetzt einstellen. Löblich: Spieldaten werden Batterie-gespeichert (2 Slots). Weniger löblich: um einen 2-Spieler-Modus scherten sich die talentierten Entwickler einen feuchten Kehricht - das gibt Punktabzug!

Le Mans 24 Hours is one of the longest, most grueling automobile races in the world. With the official license, Infogrames is also putting players through one of the most grueling races on Game Boy Color. The game contains some beautiful backdrops on each of the 20 tracks in the game, and the varying weather conditions, track conditions, and even the various hills on the tracks make every race a challenge. Unfortunately, the challenge is a bit too great, with some difficult car control and not-so-great game play.

Eftersom vi på senare tid har sett flera lyckade exempel på samma upplägg, bland annat Konamis F1 World Grand Prix II, där man har lagt ned lite möda på att skapa ett originellt och underhållande spelinnehåll känns det här spelet extra meningslöst. Även för den fanatiske Le Mans-älskaren.
