Finalement, je suis content de ne pas m'être arrêté aux critiques qui me disaient presque d'éviter ce jeu comme la peste! Même s'il est vrai que c'est un flagrant clone de Resident Evil et qu'il n'a pas la grosse production léchée pour aller avec, c'était un petit jeu fort appréciable avec lequel j'ai passé un sapré bon moment! Je l'ai terminé trois fois avec Mituki et une fois avec Rick au moment d'écrire cette critique. Il ne fait absolument rien de mal qui fasse en sorte qu'il soit injouable ou pas recommandable aux fans de Survival Horror ou jeux d'horreur en général, ne serait-ce que pour occuper un week-end de belle façon!

Absolute Playstation (72 out of 100)

I half-heartedly loaded up Chaos Break and after barely a few minutes play I was prepared to switch it off and do something much more worthwhile… like clean the gutter out with a toothbrush. Graphically there are so many glitches and rough edges that it was hard to believe there could be a game inside worth playing. Furthermore the speech got me about as excited as a mouldy cheese sandwich. Perseverance and tolerance helped push me through the pain barrier and my reward was a thoroughly enjoyable \'Resident Evil style\' game packed with mind-bending puzzles, awesome Boss monsters and loads of disfigured creepy-crawly beasties that move at lightening pace.

Don’t especially seek out Chaos Break as it is unlikely to cause many a ripple of excitement, it is also looking dated in comparison to the likes of its roots of inspiration, Resident Evil. It will give you a quarter of an hour’s worth of mindless fun though.

Video Games (6 out of 10)

Tja - so wie‘s nach derzeitigem Stand der Dinge aussieht, wird es kein weiteres Resident Evil auf der PlayStation geben - da heißt‘s also zur sofortigen Suchtbefriedigung auf Dreamcast umsteigen (RE Code: Veronica ist phänomenal gut!), auf PS2- oder N64- Episoden warten oder eben deutliche Qualitätseinbußen wie bei Chaos Break in Kauf nehmen, Nur unerschütterliche Survival-Horror-Fans greifen hier zu. Durch den Verzicht auf vorgerenderte Kulissen geht viel Flair verloren - das haben wir bei Dino Crisis schon wesentlich besser gesehen.

Mega Fun (11 out of 100)

Die Locations wirken sehr steril und die Animationen der comichaften Figuren erinnern eher an die Bewegungen einer lebendig gewordenen Vogelscheuche als an die eines Menschen, Zudem ist die Grafik-Engine mit einer Vielzahl unschöner Fehler behaftet. So kommt es nicht selten vor, dass euer Charakter komplett in einer Wand versinkt.
