3D Lines is a windows version of the game Color Lines. It is a single player, shareware, turn-based colour matching game. Each turn the player may move one object and this causes three randomly coloured object to appear on the board.

The object of the game is to arrange the objects to form lines of four or more of the same colour. The lines can be arranged vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. Each line completed immediately disappears and scores points. The game continues until all cells are occupied and there are no more moves left.

There are nine game variants ranging in difficulty from 'Easy Lines' played on a 6x6 grid to 'Hard Lines' played on a 10x10 grid and then on to others such as 'Long Lines', 'Start Lines' and 'Speed Lines'.

The game can be played with either the mouse or the keyboard, it has a high score table, music & sound effects, three difficulty settings and a boss key. The full game was released as shareware and this was active for ten days after which the player had to purchase a key to unlock it if they wished to continue playing.
