Game Players (Jan, 1995)
There are cutaways to the cameraman and technicians in the studio and even the folks watching at home. Over it all, the deliberately talky and annoying show host adds a weird, exploitative edge. It all looks great and blends well with the action, but never winds up being better than the game itself. This is great video gaming stuff.
GamePro (US) (Feb, 1995)
If you can overcome the difficult controls, MegaRace can generate MegaFun. Beginning gamers, however, and those with little patience will have a hard time with this disc. Once you're deep into the game, you'll agree that the fast racing and excellent graphics make it Mega-nificent.
Computer and Video Games (CVG) (Dec, 1994)
Megarace is just an uninspiring racing game; and once you get the hang of your vehicle (they're all very samey) and blowing up your opponents (and there's only ever one other opponent on screen), that's it. The sound is averagely dull and the disc access is C64 slow.
Freak (Mar, 1995)
רעיון טוב אבל ביצוע קצת מאכזב!
Video Games & Computer Entertainment (Jan, 1995)
A clever racing game with obvious influences from sci-fi flicks like Blade Runner, Running Man and Road Warrior. Race against speed punks as part of a futuristic, cyberpunk TV game show. The goal is to wreak a lot of havoc and please the TV viewers. The more dead punks and explosions, the better. The race tracks are sleek and cyber-realistic. A fun racing game overall. The emphasis on ultra-violence is the Mega Race's best feature.
3DO Magazine (UK) (Dec, 1994)
Originally a heavily hyped PC CD-ROM title, this has been cleverly reworked for 3DO. Both in-game and TV-style FMV presentation is far more colourful and impressive. Sadly, actual gameplay is a lot less flashy and ultimately repetitive.
Vergessen!
