Sonic The Hedgehog consegue ser mais divertido que sua versão de 16 Bits, por incrível que pareça. Tudo no jogo é bastante simples e ao mesmo tempo bem detalhado. Os gráficos são decentes. O sprite de Sonic é bem simples e os inimigos também. Já o cenário é bastante caprichado, possuindo vários itens que caracterizam ainda mais a fase. Tudo está bem colorido e visível, o que causa um certo agrado. O Special Stage é muito legal neste quesito, pois mistura uma imensidade de cores num só local.
