Game Freaks 365 (Apr 01, 2011)
All in all, this game pretty much as perfect of a port of the popular fighter as you will ever see. If you are pretty good with a standard controller, that skill will pretty easily migrate to your 3DS after a little practice. With full online functionality and a pretty neat and surprisingly deep StreetPass figure battle mode, you'll never get tired of walking around and battling your friends in a variety of ways. With the job done on this title by Capcom, it will be interesting to see if other fighting game companies can make something just as stellar. This is a must buy for your 3DS. Leave your code in the comment section below if you would like someone to battle with on this awesome fighting title. Let's take this outside!
Cheat Code Central (Mar, 2011)
If you are picking a 3DS up during the launch period, you may be tempted to bring home all the first-party Nintendo games and call it a day. However, you are really missing out if you don't pick this one up. Even if you are new to the Street Fighter franchise, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition has enough tweaks to make it easy to get into. And if you are a hardcore SF fan, this one should be a no-brainer. Though the 3DS library currently lacks a true "system seller" like Mario or Zelda, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition is the closest thing it has to a killer app, and is a must-purchase for everyone interested in the new system.
The Video Game Critic (Apr 19, 2011)
The main problem with Super Street Fighter IV 3D is it feels a little stale if you've already played the heck out of the console versions. But taken for what it is, this is the ultimate in portable fighting action.
Impulse Gamer (Apr, 2011)
In the end, Super Street Fighter IV is a great launch title for the Nintendo 3DS and if you like your fighters, I would really recommend you check this out at one of your friendly neighbourhood gaming stores. It's quite amazing to see the portable version in action as it's almost identical to the other versions but supports 3D. Even though the 3D can be frustrating at times, it does add a new element to one of the best fighter franchises in the world.

If you own a 3DS, Super Street Fighter IV is a must buy. This 3D version is just as fun as the console version, maybe even more fun thanks to the one touch moves! If you’re into mini-games or collecting stuff, the figurines will have you busy for a while and there’s actually a surprisingly large number of challengers playing the online versus modes, so get out there and show them your stuff! Thumbs way up for Super Street Fighter IV 3D!
Meristation (Mar 22, 2011)
Thunderbolt Games (Apr 08, 2011)
Capcom actually pulled it off. They made a handheld fighting game that not only stands up to its console version, but builds upon it as well. It’s the entire roster of playable fighters, all of whom have retained their moves, abilities, and playing styles. The deeper combat mechanics haven’t been watered-down in the slightest. The controls, though occasionally awkward under their default settings, can be remapped to suit your needs. It even uses the touch screen as a makeshift controller, which is perfect for newcomers who aren’t familiar with the fighting genre. While the game makes interesting use out of the 3DS’s StreetPass connectivity, you’ll get plenty more out of the superb online multiplayer. It might take a bit to get used to everything, but it’s worth the effort. One of the best console fighting games in recent memory just went portable.
Vandal Online (Mar 18, 2011)
With such a small screen and a bigger brother title that rocked, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is easily the best launch title for the Nintendo 3DS. I would have never thought that such a complex fighter like Street Fighter IV would play so damn good. Capcom added enough new options and gameplay modes to make this worth the price tag and second purchase. If you own a 3DS and don’t own this game then you might as well get rid of your 3DS. Buy this game immediately.
Game Informer Magazine (Mar 25, 2011)
Unlike the iPhone version of Street Fighter IV, which was an admirable effort that ultimately felt like a proof of concept, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a complete game. Super Street Fighter IV is one of the best fighting games around, and players owe it to themselves to give it a shot.
Armchair Empire, The (Apr 01, 2011)
Being able to snap the lid closed after a round and pick it up again hours later while I'm standing in line at the bank makes Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition the ultimate version of the title. The portability factor and ease of use, even without the production values of the console version, just made it easier for me to get into.
Hooked Gamers (Apr 05, 2011)
Super Street Fighter IV 3D is one of the stalwarts of Nintendo’s launch line-up, and for good reason. Capcom’s efforts to faithfully recreate one of the best fighting games in years on a handheld have created the best portable Street Fighter yet. The controls can be iffy at times, and the static backgrounds seem odd, but it would be a shame to ignore this title. With the full Super Street Fighter IV experience on the go, a nifty 3D effect and amazing online play, Super Street Fighter IV 3D edition is a must buy for any fighting game fan who owns a 3DS.
90 (Mar 21, 2011)
Destructoid (Mar 24, 2011)
Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is really the total portable fighting package. In terms of what Capcom has been able to pack onto the tiny 3DS cart, it effortlessly stands toe-to-toe with its console efforts. In fact, when you factor in the game’s StreetPass capabilities and the fact that you can battle random Internet strangers while sitting on the toilet, 3D Edition may even have the edge. While the tiny screen and the sometimes cramped controls may keep it from being tournament ready, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition easily one of the best titles the 3DS launch has to offer.
3D Juegos (Mar 23, 2011)
Gamegravy (Jun 11, 2011)
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D does not fail in its translation to the handheld. The StreetPass fights are a great touch, making sure that the 3DS is in your pocket so you don’t miss a pass with someone that has this game as well. The online was very impressive for Nintendo’s newest handheld, which makes me very anxious for later online titles. Graphically, it’s very well put together, aside from the still-frame backgrounds. The touchscreen controls is a very productive tool for veterans and first time players. If you want a very great on-the-go fighter for your new Nintendo 3DS, then Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a justified purchase.

GameSpot (Mar 25, 2011)
What's most impressive about Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition is how few compromises have been made to the core gameplay in its transition to the 3DS. From the fantastic visuals to the speed of combat, it's as great a fighting game as you'll find on a handheld, encompassing most of the features of the console versions. The lack of leaderboards and a tournament mode remains a mystery, but what matters most is that fighting remains fun and challenging. Whether you're a newcomer or a seasoned pro, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition satisfies your fighting urges on the go, doing so with a level of style and depth that few fighting games can match.
I have to say at the end of the day I was quite surprised with how much Capcom packed onto the 3DS game card. Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is a great game to showcase the early power of the 3DS, as well as a great way to show how good games are made. The inclusion of the touch screen controls for the Street Fighter noob is a great way to get more people into the series. Overall, this game has solid graphics, great sound, and addictive gameplay with some great multiplayer options that anyone who loves fighting games, and those looking to try, will be happy about as they pick up and play this early launch title for the 3DS.
1UP (Mar 24, 2011)
Ultimately, there are always going to be better ways to experience Super Street Fighter IV. While the game manages to capture a surprising amount of content and features from the console/arcade versions, it's still hamstrung by control methods that aren't entirely up to the task. Still, impressive communication features make this a pretty amazing handheld iteration. If you're trying to decide on one third-party launch game for your shiny new Nintendo portable, this is the one to get.
Retro4Ever (Nov 07, 2012)
If you’re only interested in the single-player mode, besides the arcade ladder, there are a host of unlockable figurines and challenges that you can chase after once you get the hang of playing. Suffice it to say, the only way to get the most out of the package is to play with friends or online. Since the game was a launch title, it’s been out long enough to have several price drops. You can commonly find it new for $15 if you shop at the right places, and there’s always a glut of copies at used video game retailers. If you’re still having a hard time finding games for your 3DS, you shouldn’t overlook this early port of a very good game.

GameTrailers (Mar, 2011)
The 3DS rendition of Super Street Fighter IV is a smart adaptation that looks, functions, but most of all, plays just like the genuine article. If you can live with the compromises it makes with controls, then it's a solid pick amid a lukewarm lineup of welterweight launch games.
Giant Bomb (Mar 23, 2011)
Super Street Fighter IV is a great fighting game that uses just about every feature the 3DS offers.
The Telegraph (Mar 22, 2011)
"Committed" sums up Super Street Fighter IV 3D rather well. Ok, so it's yet another update of a two year old game, and there's no way it could ever be the definitive version, but it's a conversion built with such skill and pride it's hard not to fall for it all over again. Just don't make another one Capcom, ok? I'm struggling enough as it is.
Level 7 (Mar 24, 2011)
While Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is one of the best (and most elegant) multiplayer games to ever appear on a Nintendo platform, it's worth remembering that this is, at its heart, the second update of a two year old game. That means the graphics aren't as impressive as you might expect from a launch title for a system whose main selling point is its graphical differences. In 3D mode especially, the backgrounds appear incredibly static -- almost cardboard-like.
Factornews (Mar 31, 2011)
80 (Mar 07, 2011)

Technically Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition ticks all the right boxes. Graphically it’s hugely impressive. The online just works – which is a genuine compliment and not a back-handed one. There’re plenty of game modes to add extra longevity and the new and novel additions such as street pass and challenge mode serve only to flesh things out further. All-in-all it’s the complete package and a real surprise when you consider how stripped down hand-held versions of the series have been in the past – particularly the iOS versions. It’s just a shame that the controls don’t quite live up to the rest of the package, and that’s something that’s completely out of Capcom’s hands. A sterling effort then, and with the developer hitting its stride right out of the gate, I can’t wait to see what comes next. Viewtiful Joe 3DS. Please make it happen.
80 (Mar 24, 2011)
Pocket Gamer UK (Mar 10, 2011)
While it might not be the game that shows off the 3DS hardware to its fullest potential, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is possibly the pick of the launch line-up and will keep you glued to your screen for many weeks to come.
80 (UK) (Mar 02, 2011)
It's hard to see Super Street Fighter IV on 3DS becoming a serious alternative for high-level players, but no-one really expected it to. That Capcom gets so close is a tremendous achievement, and while let down on occasion by the awkwardness of the control layout, the game makes up for this through its innovation, depth, style and the endless joy of a fireball in the chops. A great start for Capcom on 3DS, then, and further proof there's life in the old quarter-circle yet.
GamesRadar (Mar 25, 2011)
Super SFIV 3D is a commendable achievement, and absolutely contains everything that made the console version great. However, our recurring problems with multiplayer (online and off) and the unavoidable concern of button layout hindered an otherwise amazing experience. The result is still arguably one of the best portable fighters of all time and undoubtedly a showpiece launch title for 3DS, so it still comes highly recommended. And if the online smoothes out in the coming weeks, consider one of our biggest concerns moot.
Wiiloveit (Jul 01, 2011)
Overall, Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition is a great port, and I congratulate Dimps for being able to keep so much of the original game intact, with the exception of leaderboards and a few other small things. And while it is mechanically solid, I can't help shake the annoying feeling that I've played it too many times before. But thankfully, this will probably not be the same for people that are either new to the series, or just new to Super Street Fighter IV.
Power Unlimited (Apr, 2011)
Games TM (Mar 17, 2011)
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition could arguably be the best portable version of the core series yet produced, but this is testament to the severely limited nature of what came before rather than any standout success of the game's part.
Gameplay (Benelux) (Apr 29, 2011)
