X-Men Origins: Wolverine - Uncaged Edition

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a superb action game especially for fans of the character. This is the Wolverine game that fans have been waiting for. It’s not incredibly varied and a lesser game would have suffered because of this but Wolverine is just incredibly fun.

Game Chronicles (8.7 out of 10)

If you are like me and I’m sure there are a lot of you, then seek out the Uncaged Edition versions. I like the new Wolverine through the good and the bad. The game is not perfect but it’s a very good start. I recommend X-Men Origins: Wolverine – Uncaged Edition for the PC to anyone wanting to take a walk on the wild side. Step aside Saturday morning cartoons, there’s a new Wolverine in town and he’s not happy.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine may not be a perfect masterpiece, but it has been polished from all the right spots. Non-stop action worthy of the M-rating, showing you exactly what you can do with a pair of adamantium claws in gory detail. Does not offer that much replay value but stays fun all the way to the end.

Wolverine may not sport some of the most original gameplay elements seen in the superhero genre, but what the game does do is delve deep into the Logan’s character and really does an admirable job of making the player feel as though they are Wolverine. This is a game that is true to the character. That does translate into an M rating, but it is nice to see that Raven gave remained true to the character rather than worry about the ESRB rating.

Тактическими изысками публика не владеет, но их неплохо прорисованные тушки исправно обеспечивают красивые потасовки и море оторванных конечностей. Что еще нужно поклонникам «людей Х»?

Gigantesque défouloir, immense pourvoyeur de tripaille, X-Men Origins : Wolverine constitue une excellente surprise. Il nous prouve ainsi que les adaptations de films ne sont pas toutes condamnées à la médiocrité. Beau, intense et un poil plus profond qu'il le laisse penser au premier abord, le titre de Raven Software enchaîne les moments de bravoure. Nul doute qu'il saura réunir les fans endurcis du mutant le plus célèbre de l'univers et les néophytes au sein d'un même ballet mortel.

Presentation is key, especially in a one note symphony like this one, and this is where Activision and Raven shine. Years of dealing with the Marvel-verse have given them some incredible insights into the characters and story here and it's evident. Every remark, battle cry and slash looks, sounds, and feels authentic to these characters, especially Wolverine and Sabertooth. This game will definitely put you in the spandex of your favorite spandex slasher, which by the way is not the manliest of looks.

Mit Wolverine haben die Entwickler bei mir einen absoluten Hit gelandet. Das Spiel ist sehr dynamisch, bietet fordernde Kämpfe, nette Rätsel und einige gelungene Geschicklichkeitseinlagen. Sicher, Innovation ist bei Wolverine Mangelware, dafür sind die zusammengeklauten Spielelemente so gut umgesetzt und inszeniert, dass mich das nicht weiter stört. Wer Lust auf einen knalligen Actiontitel mit schönen Kämpfen und ordentlicher Abwechslung hat, wird mit Sicherheit seinen Spaß haben, auch wenn einige Spielabschnitte arg gestreckt wirken, die Zwischengegner sich zu oft wiederholen und die Endgegner ein wenig zu leicht sind. Warum die Entwickler allerdings keinen Kombozähler eingebaut haben, wird wohl auf ewig ein Geheimnis bleiben. Wolverine-Fans schlagen noch 4 Punkte auf die Wertung auf.

Cheat Happens (7 out of 10)

Let’s face it, X-men Origins: Wolverine was supposed to suck. You know it, I know it. It’s a licensed game. Surprise! It doesn’t. That’s not to say it doesn’t have its fair share of problems though. It’s repetitive and the story is just plain awful, but you can’t deny how fun it is to finally be able to control Logan like he was meant to be.

It's derivative and occasionally buggy, but solid action and over-the-top gore make X-Men Origins: Wolverine a cut above other movie tie-ins.
