Gamer Limit (9.3 out of 10)

All in all, Fat Princess sets out to indulge its players in the choices provided on its carefully chosen menu. While nothing on its menu may seem out of the ordinary, it clearly sets out to master what it offers. As an action real time strategy title, the game offers simple gameplay with unique tidbits to nibble on. Presenting itself as an upbeat game, it keeps its goal obtainable, and that goal remains what every game’s goal should be: to have fun.

Fat Princess is every bit as fun, cute and addicting as we'd hoped it would be over a year ago. The wait appears to have been worth it.

OMGN: Online Multiplayer Games Network (9.1 out of 10)

Overall, if you’re looking for a unique game to play with your buddies, without worrying too much about who gets what character and meeting a certain goal to get so-and-so achievement (though this game does have trophies), then this is the game for you. Its creative new twist on capture the flag, along with all the other comical elements, definitely make Fat Princess worth the download.

Fat Princess is pretty, engaging, deep, and fun. It's a stellar release for the PlayStation Network that has one or two flaws but should be tried by just about everyone out there.

Fat Princess is one of the most original multiplayer games to date, adding such a twist to the modes you would normally associate with these types of games that you will not recognize them at all. Providing the developer continues to support the game in the future with new maps, classes etc, this title could turn out to be one of the most played PSN titles yet.

Really, for $14.99, it’s tough not to recommend this one, and we seriously doubt that anyone else would refrain from that recommendation, either. Taking this game on its merits alone, it’s well worth the price.

A worthy addition to the growing library of great games on the PlayStation Store, Fat Princess is enormously enjoyable and exceptionally fun to play with friends online. The only thing sadly absent is an offline split-screen option, which would have been thoroughly welcome. Still, it's hard to baulk at what is an immensely entertaining PSN title, well worth the asking price.

Hooked Gamers (8.5 out of 10)

Fat Princess is packed with features, including online play with four game modes and nine maps, a survival mode called "Gladiate", a story mode and a single player skirmish mode. A lot of the single player content, most notably the story mode, is seriously hindered by AI issues. It is often impossible to capture the princess due to dumb AI that won't follow you when you need it to. Enemies that will gang up on your lonesome and kill you before help can arrive. Since teammates don't have the brain cells to go and bust into the enemies' castle on their own, your only option is to go at it alone or try and get some of them to follow you. In some levels, this is is utterly infuriating and makes you care less about strategy and more about going rogue to get the princess or capture control points. It's not a good representation of the strategy usually involved in online matches and really hurts the single player game.

Any game starring fat royalty with a penchant for baked treats and a credit sequence set to Sir Mixalot's 'Baby Got Back' is instantly destined for greatness anyway. So why not have your cake and eat it?

There’s very little to pick on in Fat Princess. The price might put off people from taking a leap of faith (a demo would’ve done the game the world of good and perhaps one will follow on once the game has sold well enough) and once story mode is completed, single players might not find the need to play the game through again. Online though, the game is so multi-faceted and so much fun that it justifies its price and becomes one of those PSN titles that epitomises the innovation and quirkiness of some of the PS3 exclusives we’ve enjoyed in the machine’s lifespan.

"Fat Princess" é uma excelente novidade lançada por download para a Playstation Network. Não se deixe enganar pelos visuais coloridos e personagens caricatos pois eles escondem uma alta dose de estratégia e complexidade, sem contar violência e bom humor. É possível explorar os vários papéis por horas e dias, encontrar passagens secretas, ganhar rankings e manter registros das estatísticas mais absurdas em um jogo que, se offline não é tão interessante, online é imperdível.

The controls are spot-on, the maps are great, and once you get used to the mechanics and settle into a character class (this should only take you a couple of games), you'll be rescuing princesses with the best of 'em. There are even plenty of humorous touches that add to the game's already-ample charm. From the squeaky character voices to the unlockable beards to the awesomely hilarious credits, Fat Princess has a lot to love.

Despite its early growing pains, Fat Princess manages to walk a pretty straight path between frenzied combat and larger-scale tactics. It's a unique take on team-based multiplayer with a lot of personality and charm--and, with any luck, a lot of staying power on the PlayStation Network.

Good Game (8 out of 10)

I liked it a lot more than you Baj, the commentator dialogue and music is very “dark fantasy” meets gamer slang. AND there’s always soccer if you’re sick of hack and slash! A good team, and a good connection, will give you a good time with Fat Princess, 8/10 from me.

And even though matches sometimes grind to a stalemate, hardly a minute goes by without something crazy and hilarious happening. Magic potions turn everyone nearby into chickens, including yourself; giant bombs destroy walls or a small army; villagers dance tauntingly out of reach of angry warriors, distracting them from their real duties; and all the while, the demure princess demands more cake. Fat Princess has a few balancing issues and online problems, but as long as you have friends to play with and a penchant for gleefully bloody competition, it's a lot of fun.

Computer and Video Games (CVG) (7 out of 10)

We want to like Fat Princess more than we actually do. It has the make-up of a brilliant online team game. But the lack of overall communication really does have an affect on how the game plays. If you're in a position where you have 30 mates all online with headsets, you'll love it. But we're not.

Good Game (6.5 out of 10)

There are lots of moving parts to this game and that is what keeps things interesting, especially when you’re playing on levels that have a moving tide or magma. I like the style of it, but with no differences between the two sides besides the colour, I got limited replay value out of this. 6.5/10 from me.

videogamer.com (6 out of 10)

All of this is ultimately a huge shame as the game is fun to play up until you fail to get a result after investing a huge amount of time in a match. Multiplayer gaming is generally something that you can hop in and out of, playing a few games here and there, but that's generally not possible with Fat Princess - log on for 30 minutes and you'll likely fail to even complete a single game. There's only so much the cute presentation can gloss over, meaning some serious changes will need to be made if the game is going to have any real legs.

Eurogamer.net (UK) (6 out of 10)

Much like the cakes that the princesses so greedily scoff down, the game is delicious at first, an overwhelming confection of bright colours and varied flavours, but the sugar rush wears off much too quickly, leaving you bloated and exhausted. There's the basis of a really enjoyable and original multiplayer experience here, but it's simply too chaotic to encourage the co-operation required to keep the gameplay moving. Packed with lovely ideas, yet lacking focus, balance and pacing, it's little more than a guilty snack.

411mania.com N/A

Fat Princess fails to meet the absurd amount of hype it received, but it is still a great game and one of the best in the Playstation Network. I could not find any problems with the game per se; it had more to do with the way people where playing the game, which is not the developer’s fault. Yes, some maps are boring, but there are enough choices that you don’t NEED to play the boring maps. The only reason I don’t give this game a 9 is because people don’t seem to understand the proper way to play the game. For every great game I have played online I have had to endure 5 boring games because players fail to play a role and concentrate on the objectives. This is a game that demands team play and where solo players rarely succeed. Still, Fat Princess is a breath of fresh air: A good multiplayer game that is not another generic shooter, with an excellent art style, quirky charm and well-balanced units. Two thumbs up for Fat Princess.
