Left 4 Dead 2 arrive à renouveler, avec une facilité déconcertante, l’intérêt du concept de Left 4 Dead premier du nom. Tellement d’ajouts et de modifications ont été apportés qu’il serait plus qu’indécent et incorrect de le qualifier d’add-on ou de DLC. Left 4 Dead 2 est un vrai jeu, une vraie suite qui, encore une fois, remplit son pari d’offrir une expérience de jeu à la fois fun, intense et différente de ce que propose la concurrence. Si vous avez adoré le premier, vous idolâtrerez cette suite en tous points supérieure. Et si vous n’avez jamais voulu ou pu aborder Left 4 Dead, il serait temps de vous y mettre pour ne pas passer à côté d’un petit bijou de fun et de convivialité qui pourrait bien combler vos longues soirées pendant quelques années.

Amazing, takes one of the best games of last year and improves on it, I will be playing this game for the next few years (until Left 4 Dead 3 comes out) just about everything in the game is perfectly designed and perfectly balanced. It is worth noting that if you do not have online access you will only have access to 1/5thof the total content. It is designed to be played online with friends so if you have internet access and have friends then you need this game.

Left 4 Dead 2 isn't Left 4 Dead 1.5 since there's a wealth of new content, new features, tweaked A.I. Director 2.0 and more changes than you can shake a stick at. I have a feeling if this game came out last year, people would have been really happy with L4D but without the former you can't enjoy the latter, just the same as with Assassin's Creed. If you loved L4D and you are boycotting L4D2 then you are missing out on some great follow-up action, 2 is the sequel that we hoped it would be and more.

Left 4 Dead 2 doesn't have that "new game smell" that the original did upon its release, but it stands head and shoulders above its predecessor as an all-around superior product because of its vastly broader scope of usable items, weapons, enemies, levels, modes, and mission variation. A quick run through all the campaigns will only take about five hours, but the meat of this package lies in the multiplayer modes, all of which are better than ever. Fans of the first game would be missing out if they didn't give L4D2 a spin, and newcomers have picked a great time to get into the series. This is a perfect example of how to do a video game sequel the right way.

The fundamentals may not have changed so drastically, but Valve has taken a look at how players performed in the first game and tailored the sequel to challenge them and develop new, interesting strategies to combat the infected. There’s much more crammed in than the original with more additions coming down the pipeline. Left 4 Dead 2 is an insanely fun co-op and competitive online experience, and that’s a great similarity to have with the original.

When it was first announced, I thought Left 4 Dead 2 was nothing more than a glorified expansion. After having spent hours with it -- and many more to come -- I appreciate the sequel's major and subtle differences. I'm not ready to shelf my copy of the original just yet, but I honestly can't see myself going back to it when L4D2 is superior in virtually every way.

Though it comes a mere one year after the original, Left 4 Dead 2 is a much better game and much better value. The new campaigns and unique game modes offer more variety and more longevity, while all the other additions and tweaks make the already great gameplay even more enjoyable. Even the AI has improved a little bit, and while they still aren't big on using pipe bombs or Molotovs and are prone to missteps, they seem to have a better grasp of tactics and will follow you a bit more closely. Still, Left 4 Dead 2 is best enjoyed with friends. Every mode allows two-player splitscreen and is seamlessly integrated online. Though the core gameplay remains pretty much the same, there is more than enough new content and improved action to make this zombie apocalypse highly recommendable.

Whether or not Left 4 Dead 2 is for you really depends on your level of exposure and affinity for the style of hardcore team-focused gameplay Valve is offering here. If you’re still interested in the gameplay, then you’re going to enjoy every aspect of the sequel since it’s improved in all areas, from available game modes to strength of character and personality to replayability and its visual style. After playing, you’ll find it impossible to go back to the first game. Though plenty of other games offer co-operative gameplay against mobs of computer-controlled foes, no other game emphasizes teamwork as strongly as this, and few other games are as satisfying when you’re able to pull through successfully, particularly when competing in Versus mode against four human-controlled boss zombies. If you saw the original and were always curious to try it out, then by all means get the sequel. It is, without a doubt, the better game.

Those that do have the original will find more variation, better and more atmospheric campaigns, a more extensive amount of modes and content, and most of all a new load of fantastic and addictive (co-op) gameplay in this sequel. Ich hatte schon die Sorge, dass Valve mich mit Left 4 Dead 2 in ein echtes Wertungsdilemma stürzen würde. Als kooperatives Onlinespiel war der Vorgänger fantastisch, doch was ich bis zum Test vom zweiten Teil gesehen hatte, erinnerte mehr an ein Left 4 Dead 1.5, das auch gut als Add-On realisierbar gewesen wäre. Und dann noch die Sache mit dem Tageslicht - wie soll denn da Stimmung aufkommen? Doch nach einigen packenden Stunden in den Südstaaten der USA kann ich Left 4 Dead 2 als überaus würdige Fortsetzung bezeichnen.

Left 4 Dead 2 ha ido arrastrando el cartel de expansión desde que se anunció su existencia. Pero lo cierto es que es una secuela. Además, de mucha calidad. Mantiene la mecánica jugable de su primera parte, algo lógico teniendo en cuenta que ésta funciona a las mil maravillas. Pero los añadidos son muchos y no se convierten en una simple suma de nuevos objetos o posibilidades, si no que significan una experiencia jugable mejor. La evolución está a todos niveles. Los nuevos enemigos suponen nuevos retos, primero por sus propias características y después por el hecho combinarse con los infectados originales; las armas permiten soluciones ante estos nuevos retos y el diseño de niveles ha ganado en complejidad y variedad. El resultado final es que se ha potenciado todavía más la experiencia cooperativa, clave del éxito de esta franquicia.

Keine Frage, Left 4 Dead 2 macht genauso viel Spaß wie der erste Teil. Das Spielprinzip funktioniert immer noch blendend und die wenigen Neuerungen, darunter vor allem die zwei neuen Spielmodi, erweitern den Titel sinnvoll um einige Stunden Spielspaß. Trotzdem fühlt sich das gesamte Spiel für Veteranen nicht wie ein vollwertiger Nachfolger an, da es unter dem Strich nur mehr vom Gleichen ist.

Il est vrai que cette version 360 n'est pas aussi au point techniquement que son homologue PC, mais le jeu s'avère cependant plus riche, mieux ficelé et plus intense que son prédécesseur. Au fond, Left 4 Dead 2 représente bien l'expérience coopérative ultime que nous espérions découvrir. Si certains éprouvent encore quelques doutes, sachez qu'ils n'ont plus vraiment lieu d'être : Valve ne s'est pas moqué de nous et livre une nouvelle référence. Nous ne sommes pas près de goûter à nouveau à une nuit de sommeil complète.

Left 4 Dead 2 feels like the game Valve should have shipped this time last year, and if they had, I don't think you would have heard a word about a dearth of content hampering this otherwise fantastic multiplayer experience. And you certainly can't make that claim now. Anyone who's complaining about this sequel being an overpriced expansion might as well hang it up; there is simply far more content by volume in this package than in the original. The core of Left 4 Dead may have lost some of its newness in the last 12 months, but the wealth of additions in this sequel ought to keep you blasting zombies and munching on brains for a good long while.

If more of the same is all you want then this will serve your purpose. If you plan on playing this game online only with friends then buy it. However if you are just buying it because of the buzz its gotten and don’t plan on going online then you better look else where because Left 4 Dead 2 will disappoint you.

Im deutschen Pendant entledigen sich Zombies bei Treffern keiner Körperteile mehr; lösen sich praktisch in Nichts auf, bevor sie den Boden berühren. Die Umsetzung ist zu lieblos geraten, alles wirkt steril und sauber, das bedrückende Gefühl einer Zombie-Apokalypse bleibt aus. Und das spiegelt sich auch in der Gesamtwertung wider, daran ändern selbst die fünf Waffen aus »Counter-Strikes nichts, die exklusiv in der deutschen Fassung enthalten sind. Schade drum, denn davon abgesehen sorgt das »Left 4 Dead 2« durchwegs für Spannung, Action und Adrenalin.
