In conclusion, Ice Age Dawn: of the Dinosaurs, isn’t perfect, but as a movie tie-in, it stands well above the rest when it comes to competent level design, graphics and voice work. You can really tell that a lot of effort went into this game. The game does have a few faults, such as the short playtime, somewhat vapid minigames and multiplayer, and a confusing story for those who have not watched the movie. For the target audience, this will not matter, and any child should have fun with this game.

„Ice Age 3 – Die Dinosaurier sind los“ ist ein grundsolides Hüpfabenteuer geworden, das zwar weder spielerisch, noch technisch einen wirklich vom Hocker haut, aber durchaus abwechslungsreiche Kost vor allem für jüngere Spieler liefert. Die Geschichte ist durchgängig inszeniert, wobei die Erzählung anhand der Höhlenmalereien zwar nett, mit den Gesichtern der Charaktere aber sicherlich deutlich spaßiger geworden wäre. Spielerisch bewegt man sich auf bekannten Pfaden mit einfachen Jump’n’Run-Einlagen und einigen Actionsequenzen – dank einiger kreativer (und teils abgeschauter) Ideen bietet dieser Titel aber durchaus einiges an Abwechslung. Gelegenheitsspieler, Fans sowie junge und jung gebliebene Spieler dürfen daher mal mit einem Blick liebäugeln, müssen aber im Hinterkopf behalten, das für den Vollpreis nur ein Titel mit geringem Spielumfang heraus springt.

L'Age de Glace 3 est un jeu de plates-formes tout à fait classique et sans surprise mais efficace et que les plus jeunes sauront apprécier. Bon complément du film dont il n'omet aucun passage clé, il tient sa force du fait que l'on incarne 6 personnages différents, dans des phases qui ne le sont pas moins. Principal regret : les doublages officiels ont été substitués par des voix qui dépaysent beaucoup...

Eines vorweg: Ice Age 3 ist kein schlechtes Spiel und es gab in der Vergangenheit wahrlich miesere Lizenzverbrechen. Gerade Gelegenheitsspieler und jüngere Fans werden an den Abenteuern von Sid und Buck (und den anderen) ihre Freude haben. Insgesamt bietet das Spiel jedoch zu wenig Herausforderung und Flair, um länger an den Bildschirm zu fesseln. Auch technisch wird eher Magerkost geboten. Schade drum.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs is a game that should satisfy the franchise's young fan base. It's got the characters they know and love, it's got a bunch of different gameplay types bundled together to keep hold of short attention spans, and it shouldn't be too difficult. Still, the game probably won't appeal to players outside of that limited demographic -- it's way too easy, characters float on top of stuff, some of the voices are annoying, and so on. I personally enjoyed the variety of gameplay and chasing the high scores in the challenges, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone but an Ice Age super-fan under the age of 10.

Das eigentliche Problem von Ice Age 3 ist die Technik. Wären Steuerung und Balance etwas ausgefeilter und hätte das Spiel insgesamt weniger Fehler gehabt, würde es sich um eine wirklich gelungene Filmversoftung handeln. So trauert der Spieler jedoch nur um die nicht weiter ausgebauten, tollen Ideen.

Inhaltlich bekommt man eine gelungene Mischung bekannter und beliebter Elemente, die handwerklich sehr solide zusammengefügt wurden. Technik und Schwierigkeitsgrad allerdings sind für Sorgenfalten verantwortlich. Letzteres, weil es nur jüngeren oder höchst selten spielenden Familienmitgliedern eine Herausforderung bietet und vorrangig auf "Durchkommen" angelegt ist; Ersteres, weil die fehlende Optimierung für die verschiedenen Systeme zu deutlich wird.
