Berlin 1948
Description official descriptions
Shortly after the war, several countries want to control Berlin. An atomic bomb has been smuggled into the city by the Americans. You play an American spy, whose mission is to guard this bomb and not to let Stalin have it under any circumstances.
This is one of the early examples of a 3rd person perspective point & click adventure, the interface being slightly more complicated than the famous SCUMM system.

Trivia
Extras
The original game comes with a double sided poster on one side depicts enlarged version of boxcover artwork and at the back a map of "East Berlin" outlining key locations like Hotel, Reichstag (used by Soviets as East German Parliament building) to local Zoo. Also included is an audio cassette that can be used to synchronise with introduction animation sequence and in-game while visiting the cinema for the latest weekly news.
Historical ties
The premise for this game is based on real world events. After 1945, Berlin was divided into two different sections of "West Berlin" controlled by French, British and American sectors and "East Berlin" by the Soviets.
On June 24, 1948 the Russians halted all surface (rail and road) transport to and from Berlin. In response, the allies organized the Berlin Airlift to bring in supplies and get people out by airplane. Also, contributing to a thriving black market for goods and long queues at shops. It was lifted nearly a year later in May, 1949.
It was during this time of the blockade that the game begins.
