Starry
Description
Starry is a rail shooter with wireframe style graphics and 8 bit music. It focuses on scoring through looping levels and is punctuated by end bosses and flight only levels. As the score grows higher, the speed of the game increases as in Tetris. The world in Starry is abstract but sometimes evokes real life environments.
There are two ways to shoot in this game : the laser which can be upgraded several times to a more powerful one and the missiles which use a locking system. The amount of missiles carried by the spaceship can also be upgraded. Different power-ups appear during the game when destroying complete waves of enemies. These power-ups are: score bonus, shield refill, laser upgrade and missile upgrade.
The spaceship controlled by the player can perform dashes and can lean on the left or on the right in addition to the standard fly up/down/left/right. All these moves are very useful in flight only levels where there is no enemy to shoot at and only obstacles to avoid. The final goal is simple: get a huge score and record it on the leaderboard of the official website.
