Alles in allem ist Catz mit dem spartanisch ausgestatteten Tamagotchi nicht zu vergleichen. Die Umsetzung von Katzen ihren Eigenheiten ist hier wirklich gelungen, und dieser Titel wird mit Sicherheit für lange Zeit ständiger Begleiter jedes echten Katzenliebhabers sein.

There's really nothing here to keep you interested -- Catz is a decent virtual pet simulator, but virtual pets are only things to use for minutes at a time, and not something you'll want to keep permanently in your Game Boy Color system. I don't really see too many people playing with their Catz for hours on end. Pet it, feed it, and turn it off.

In Zeiten von Pokémon und Dragon Quest Monsters ist die Uhr für Tamagotchi-Klons ganz einfach abgelaufen. Wer sich heutzutage hingebungsvoll um virtuelle Wesen kümmern möchte, sollte sich besser nicht für Mindscapes Katzen entscheiden.

There could be a case made that this game should have been called Sim Feline, but there's virtually no required interaction with your virtual pet. Kids with allergies or other prohibitive reasons might love this title, but anyone who calls himself a gamer will probably view this title as little more than a drain on battery power. To paraphrase Springfield anchor Kent Brockman: "I won't shed a tear if this little kitty is put to sleep."
