Sengoku is a character-driven real-time strategy game set in 16th century Japan. The player takes on the role as a Feudal Japanese Lord and the goal is to unite the land and become Shogun. The game takes place on a historical map of Japan, divided into over 350 different provinces, during the Warring States era. The player needs to keep the clan strong and make sure to have an heir while managing relations with family, friends and enemies as well as relations with three different religious factions, the Shinto, the Christians and the Buddhists.
