That's something you couldn't say with complete joy in your voice with previous LEGO titles. This certainly will be tough to top when the next LEGO game is released.

With everything from inside jokes and even classic LEGO-style jokes to some of the greatest heroes ever created as functioning playable characters, LEGO Batman 2 is a solid experience for anyone who has ever been a fan of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, or any of the other 60+ playable characters. Simply put, LEGO Batman 2 has restored my faith in the ability for a game with these larger-than-life super heroes to be fun and entertaining without resorting to making them evil or just making them punch each other a lot.

Tightly constructed levels interplay brilliantly with the freedom of roaming the Gotham streets and that usual attitude of snagging all the studs, bricks and characters has never been so alluring. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes isn’t just an immensely fun game, it’s a funny one as well, and one that never gets tired of having the last laugh.

Man wartet noch immer auf einen Online-Modus, dafür überzeugt der Couch-Koop-Modus mit den bekannten Stärken. „LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes“ ist ein fantastisches Spiel für die ganze Familie und für mich definitiv ein Retter des Videospielsommers.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a collector's paradise. You have to play through the game to get studs to unlock characters to go back to old levels and access different areas to collect more secrets. I polished off the story in about nine hours, but I spent the next 11 chasing down bricks and characters -- and I'm still not done.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes puede considerarse el mejor juego de la marca danesa hecho hasta la fecha, y quizás esté en el podio de los juegos de Batman, solo por detrás de los últimos esfuerzos de Rocksteady Studios. Su paso a mundo abierto es una buena idea, aunque hay mucho que refinar y mejorar en futuras ediciones, pero es el excepcional diseño de los niveles lo que lo sitúa en un escalón superior. Además, cuenta con un repertorio de personajes extensísimo, que no se limita al universo de Batman sino que se amplía al resto de héroes de DC Comics, dejándonos surcar los cielos de Gotham con Super Man, o avanzar a toda velocidad por sus calles con Flash. Sin lugar a dudas un gran juego para todos los públicos que puede sorprender a más de uno si le da una oportunidad.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a step in the right direction for a series that was flirting with stagnation. With 50 available characters, a slew of corresponding skills and abilities, an open world that encourages exploration and discovery, a halfway decent story, and rock solid control, this one is quite the package. The camera can still be iffy, the execution of certain hero skills leaves something to be desired, and some of the puzzles are a little goofy, but beyond that… Bottom line is if you’ve enjoyed the LEGO games up to this point, you’re gonna live the latest.

TT Games ha conseguido insuflar nuevos aires a su preciada saga LEGO, dando vida a una aventura realmente absorbente, profunda y llena de cosas que hacer y explorar. Como sandbox no puede competir contra los grandes dominadores del género, si bien esa tampoco pensamos que sea la intención de esta aventura. Sin duda estamos ante una de las mejores entregas en la historia reciente de la franquicia LEGO y, dada la calidad que siempre ha mostrado la misma, son palabras mayores.

Still, even with its virtual omission of anyone not with “man” at the end of their name doesn’t keep LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes from being fun. Watching a beloved hero like Batman fight baddies and his own issues with Superman is a great combination, and it’s all presented in the family-friendly LEGO wrapper we’ve come to expect from Telltale. If you or anyone in your house is a fan of the caped crusader — even the newest iteration — you can rest assured that LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will be a hit.

Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is a fantastic achievement for Telltale Games, the Lego games having been yearly (even bi-yearly) released since 2005 have never really moved forward the franchise, until this iteration and it is a fantastical leap. Such so, I find myself increasingly excited not just by the Wii U release, but the sooner arriving Lego Lord of the Rings series of games and to see how Telltale manages to increase the size of the games world and still provide an interesting and engrossing experience. There are moments that do hamper the game, such as the initially daunting world-map, the random falling from ledges or walls, screen-tearing and slow-down, but Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is another cracking effort and definitely one to play not just alone but with friends.

Po mieście poruszamy się m.in. Batautami, Batłodziami czy Batkopterami, możemy również latać, jeśli dana postać takową zdolność posiada. Pojazdów natomiast do zdobycia jest całe mnóstwo, a odkrycie wszystkich pochowanych w grze sekretów może zająć drugie tyle co sam wątek fabularny. Trzeba przyznać, że miasto Gotham jest zrobione z rozmachem – lokacje są pieczołowicie dopieszczone pod względem graficznym, tętnią życiem i dobrze budują klimat gry. Tekstury, cienie, światła i postacie zostały wykonane z dużą dbałością o szczegóły, stając się dla serii wyznacznikami zupełnie nowej jakości. Warstwa dźwiękowa LEGO Batman 2 bazuje głównie na znanych ze srebrnego ekranu motywach muzycznych. Przykładowo szybując w przestworzach jako Superman usłyszymy słynny orkiestralny „Superman Theme” z 1978 roku.

Intendiamoci, anche così ci troviamo di fronte ad uno dei migliori capitoli della saga e forse l'evoluzione si completerà proprio in quel LEGO Lord of the Rings di cui si parlava all'inizio. Per il sottoscritto, ormai grande esperto in questo genere, la seconda avventura a blocchetti di Batman sarebbe un 7.5, ma il mezzo voto in più è meritato per il tentativo (quasi riuscito) di portare qualcosa di nuovo.

Traveller's Tales has shown its open-world colors, and I'm impressed by the result. LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes is an engrossing game that appeals to kids and the kid in all of us, and it does so with surprising depth and undeniable charm. Questionable design choices keep the game from sandbox perfection, but there's plenty of fun to be had in this superhero package that's made for everyone, including hardcore collectible junkies. Arkham City it is not, but for a crowd seeking thematically lighter fare, it's the next best thing.

It's a treat to see super heroes nteract with one another. The script is great, the gameplay is strong, and it's a strong step in the right direction. If you enjoy previous LEGO titles, you'll be right at home here.

LEGO Batman 2 is refreshingly straightforward, rarely frustrating and tailored perfectly to younger gamers. It also treats adults with respect, with universally appealing humour and gameplay that is relatively free of faff and full of fun. Though it's unfortunately dragged down by some technical hitches, on the whole it's a heroic effort and probably the best LEGO game to date. Thanks to the open world and voice acting, it's certainly the most ambitious.

Non era semplice rinverdire una serie come LEGO Batman e gli sviluppatori hanno incontrato senz'altro delle difficoltà, ma allo stesso tempo dobbiamo riconoscere quanto di buono sono stati capaci di inserire nel pacchetto. In primo luogo la trama, per quanto banale, riserva tantissime chicche nei dialoghi e nelle sequenze d'intermezzo: i ragazzi di TT Games ci tengono a citare i due "Batman" diretti da Tim Burton, al di là dell'eccellente colonna sonora firmata Danny Elfman (che si interfaccia efficacemente con il tema di "Superman" scritto da John Williams quando vestiamo i panni del kryptoniano), e ciò si traduce in momenti davvero godibili e divertenti; c'è poi una dimensione in più, quella del parlato, di cui si sentiva il bisogno. E poi gli enigmi, i poteri, i personaggi, persino i veicoli: c'è tanto da fare e da scoprire nella Gotham City costruita con i mattoncini di plastica, e nonostante gli spigoli, l'esperienza si rivela piacevole.

Davon abgesehen finde ich es allerdings bemerkenswert, wie mutig die Entwickler neue Ansätze ausprobieren, allen voran das Open-World-Prinzip - das zwar an schlechter Übersicht und gelegentlichem Geruckel leidet, aber das ohnehin schon wieder mal sehr umfangreiche Spiel nochmals vergrößert. Außerdem ist es ein wirklich saucooles Gefühl, mit Superklotzman durch das im Sonnenuntergang glitzernde Gotham City zu zischen, begleitet von John Williams‘ markantem Superman-Thema. Aber nicht alles glänzt so schön wie des Eisernen Locke: Die Railshooter-Abschnitte sind gähnend langweilig, die KI-Bugs zum Teil sehr nervend, das Spielprinzip wenig herausfordernd wie eh und je. Auf der anderen Seite ist da eine beeindruckende Präsentation, viele sinnvolle Verbesserungen im Detail sowie natürlich der unverändert gute Koop-Spaß. Kurzum: Ein rundum gelungenes Lego-Paket. Nicht perfekt, aber mit vielen positiven Überraschungen, die der Serie auch zukünftig noch gut tun werden.

With an expansive city to explore between levels, LEGO Batman 2 can easily be a likened to an Arkham City-lite. The promise of playing with other DC Super Heroes isn't brought to its full potential as the story remains laser-focused on Batman, Robin, and Superman, but there's a fun family-friendly adventure for these three leads.

La narration et la recherche de bonus ont gagné en profondeur grâce à l'ajout de dialogues et de déplacements libres dans les rues de Gotham City. L'ajout d'autres supers-héros de DC Comics en bonus apporte un peu plus d'intérêt au mode libre, même si on aurait aimé les voir dans leurs propres histoires. Pour une prochaine fois.

It really is frustrating to see how much the LEGO series has progressed, yet how much it has stagnated and failed to mature. The inclusion of the free roaming open world aspect is a huge step in the right direction, but is let down by the lack of a mini-map and some extremely shoddy vehicle work. Long loading screens and visual lag are also heavily present but don’t kill the experience. It would also be nice to see the team add in online multiplayer, which would fix some of the local co-op issues. It’s still a fun experience, and even with some issues that need fixing, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes will suck you in and have you collecting gold bricks for weeks.

GameSpot (6.5 out of 10)

Lego Batman 2 contains the same strengths and weaknesses as the many games that came before it. Worthwhile additions such as the open world show the potential for where this series could go, but the core mechanics suffer from the same problems in every iteration. Although it's still as fun as ever to collect Lego bricks and watch the cutscenes, the lack of real change leads to the feeling that you've seen all this before. Batman is a meticulous self-improver; it would be nice if his Lego games had the same mentality.
