Es mag interessant sein, die Historie der roten Flitzer von Beginn an zu erleben, doch dem Spielspaß hat der chronologische Spielaufbau nicht gut getan. Die erste Ära nervte mich, da sie sich endlos in die Länge zog und einige Aufgaben mit den alten, kaum zu bändigenden Kisten selbst auf leichter Schwierigkeitsstufe sehr happig waren. Etwas Abwechslung in Form von Zeitsprüngen bei der Karriere und somit unterschiedlichere Wagen hätten meiner Motivation nicht geschadet. Das Fahrverhalten gefällt mir insgesamt recht gut, wobei ich gerne die Fahrhilfen einzeln konfigurieren können würde und eindeutig zum Lenkrad tendiere. Mit der Grafik kann ich trotz einiger Mängel halbwegs gut leben, die genialen Motorensounds trösten darüber hinweg!

Still, if you're prepared to put in the hours unlocking it all, there are a vast number of vehicles and circuits, and the diversity of the line-up makes this worth a look for racing fans with a sim inclination. Even with EA's Need For Speed-branded gloss stripped away and replaced by rudimentary menus, there's still a satisfying, if bare-bones, driving game beneath.

Överlag presenterar Ferrari Racing Legends ett spelkoncept som handlar om en noggrann hyllning till Ferrari-märket korsat med enkelhet i allt övrigt. Med tre svårighetsgrader kan till och med en bilspelsnovis få ut en del av spelet, även om det fortfarande inte är lätt att ratta dessa monster. Men grundfrågan för ett bilspel bör alltid vara, är det kul att köra? Och där är svaret ett självklart ja. Ferrari Racing Legends kan avnjutas i små doser lika väl som långa sittningar och det som saknas i grafik eller spelupplägg vägs upp av kärleken till Ferrari-märket.

Test Drive : Ferrari Racing Legends remplit plutôt bien sa mission, à savoir rendre hommage à la marque italienne à travers différentes époques. Grâce à un gameplay plaisant et équilibré, accessible mais exigeant, le jeu de Slightly Mad Studios saura convaincre les puristes mais peut-être un peu moins les autres joueurs, qui seront rebutés par des bugs persistants, un mode Campagne répétitif ou l'absence d'un multijoueur en écran splitté. Mais Ferrari Racing Legends se rattrape grâce à son mode ralenti particulièrement sympa ou le jeu en ligne qui permet à 8 joueurs de se tirer la bourre.

It would be nice if the game had some sort of free ride mode that allowed a player to drive around and get the feel of each car. For a name like Ferrari, more effort should have been put into modes where a player could enjoy driving the car instead of being pushed into meeting a certain agenda constantly. There really is no break from the standard racing in the game. It's not a bad game, but you really should know what you're getting yourself into before you buy it - a challenging list of events with hard controls to master.

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is not a bad game; it is simply what it is. I hate to be so nondescript about a game, but if you like Ferraris and racing the tracks they tend to zoom on, you will probably have a good time. If not, then this game is definitely not for you. As I said earlier, creating a game based around a single make of vehicle can be a real challenge to developers, and Slightly Mad Studios did a decent job here. You just really have to be into that sort of thing and possess a serious amount of patience to get your money’s worth out of this game.

High-speed thrills hit the wall too soon in the punishing campaign, and despite a solid range of multiplayer, quick race, and time-trial options, progressing through the three distinct eras to unlock all the tracks and sweet rides is a big part of the fun that gets trampled by the clumsy execution.

If that's your thing, however, then go nuts, because Ferrari Racing Legends is certainly made for Ferrari-obsessed gearheads like you!

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends offre un'esperienza di difficile classificazione. Si tratta di un arcade? Decisamente no, visto l'approccio hardcore alle gare. Si tratta di una simulazione? Nemmeno: troppo poche le regolazioni a nostra disposizione e praticamente nulla l'introduzione a ogni evento. Ci sono sicuramente numeri indiscutibili a favore del titolo di Slightly Mad Studios: oltre duecento sfide compongono una carriera che ripercorre tre epoche e ci mette a disposizione un totale di cinquanta vetture e quasi quaranta tracciati (contando le varianti), l'intelligenza artificiale degli avversari è al di sopra della media e, come detto, il grado di sfida è notevole. Peccato non si sia provveduto a mettere insieme questi elementi con più cura per il contorno, finendo per pregiudicare l'appetibilità del gioco presso chiunque non sia un fan sfegatato della Ferrari.

Un bonito e interesante recorrido por los modelos que han popularizado a Ferrari como una de las escuderías más importantes del sector automovilístico; cumple en cuanto a contenido se refiere, pero no acierta en la ejecución de las ideas que se proponen. El estilo de conducción, a medio camino entre la simulación y el arcade, deja un buen sabor de boca que se ve afectado por las taras a nivel gráfico (muy buen diseño de circuitos y modelos, pero mala definición de la sensación de velocidad y de los fondos que se aprecian en carrera). El sistema piramidal que abre nuevas pruebas entorpece el camino de los jugadores más exigentes en cuanto a material desbloqueable, lo mismo que a la hora de disfrutar de un multijugador bastante simple, eficiente pero nada destacable.

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends hätte ein schöner Lückenfüller für den Sommer werden können, denn was den Ansatz und Umfang der Karriere betrifft, befinden sich die Slightly Mad Studios auf dem richtigen Weg. Hätte man doch nur für mehr Abwechslung gesorgt und die billige Präsentation aufgepeppt. Bei der Modellierung der Traumwagen aus Maranello hat man sich dagegen nicht lumpen lassen. Zwar werden kaum Informationen geboten, doch sieht die Auswahl an Ferraris zwischen 1947 und heute nicht nur klasse aus, sondern klingt auch so. Die Fahrphysik kann da leider nicht mithalten: Zwar ist sie durchaus anspruchsvoll und tendiert mehr zur Simulation als zur simplen Arcade-Raserei, doch leidet sie an dem übertriebenen Übersteuern, das typisch für die Rennspiele der Slightly Mad Studios ist und mit dem ständigen Ausbrechen des Hecks und Rutscheinlagen mehr an Go Kart-Fahren erinnert.

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is dan ook niet wat het had kunnen worden. De Ferrari’s in de game ogen prachtig, maar de omgevingen daarin tegen zien er een stuk minder mooi uit en geven de game letterlijk een slecht beeld. De campagne heeft een mooie tijdsduur, maar aan de moeilijkheidsgraad mankeert wat. Tel daarbij op dat de andere modi van de campagne afhankelijk zijn en je ziet dat de game zichzelf nadelig beïnvloed. Dat is jammer, want hierdoor krijgen de prachtige racemonsters van Ferrari niet de game die ze verdienen.

Dei tre stili di guida praticamente solo uno è sfruttabile decentemente, e la rigidissima formula del gioco, completamente incentrata sulla carriera, porta troppi obblighi anche per il più paziente dei videogiocatori. Il confine che porta alla frustrazione è troppo labile e l'ho varcato troppe volte per ritenermi soddisfatto da questo gioco e per poterlo consigliare ad ogni appassionato. Se non avete paura di imprecare per buona parte del tempo, gli aspetti storici e il mito Ferrari potrebbero comunque portare qualche piccola soddisfazione; per chiunque sia alla ricerca di un prodotto semplicemente godibile e non così vicino alla frustrazione, invece, il mio consiglio è quello di cercare altrove.

The same is true when you create a game on Xbox Live. Online races allow up to eight players to compete, and they work well, though at this stage, very few people are playing online, and you tend to see the same few cars and tracks appear again and again. Ferrari Racing Legends all but squanders its greatest asset--a vast collection of fantastic cars--by locking most of them behind campaign challenges that quickly become tiresome. Ferrari enthusiasts may squeeze some enjoyment from this game, but it's far from being the elegant, finely tuned celebration the Ferrari legacy deserves.

Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends innehåller de flesta Ferrari-modeller, från tidigt fyrtiotal till nutid. Tyvärr behöver man tampas med en onödigt svår kampanj för att låsa upp dem. Kort och gott: ett kompetent bilspel som förstörs av dess höga svårighetsgrad.

Test Drive Ferrari Racing Legends non dona pressoché alcuna soddisfazione al videogiocatore; a quello esperto come a quello casuale. Inforcare il volante di una Ferrari 125S e vederla comportarsi in pista come una Testarossa è semplicemente deprimente. Purtroppo anche il lavoro “di contorno” al gameplay non funziona quasi mai: la modalità di gioco principale pare essere strutturata per incatenarci in una progressione senza respiro e le modalità collaterali dipendono dalla prima in maniera assolutamente esagerata. Il comparto tecnico infine, che mostra la cura che ci si poteva aspettare da un titolo celebrativo solo in alcune sue parti, lasciando tutto il resto completamente allo sbando. Una produzione, in sostanza, consigliata solo a chi fosse talmente legato alla Ferrari ed alla sua storia, da collezionare qualsiasi cosa ad essa collegata.
