Somehow Gearbox has managed to create a sequel with the perfect balance of familiarity and novelty, while dodging the mistakes of many sequels that are so familiar they’re boring or so novel they’re destroyed by gimmicks. If you’re expecting something groundbreaking from Borderlands 2, don’t. If you want more Borderlands with some cool new additions and a new environment, you won’t regret paying full price for the sequel. The only possible con of Borderlands 2 is that it’s an enhanced version of the original. As it turns out, that’s exactly what I wanted it to be.

Fun, déjanté et jouissif, Borderlands 2, c'est tout simplement Borderlands en deux fois mieux ! Cela peut sembler une évidence, mais en réalité toutes les suites ne peuvent pas en dire autant. Motivés par le succès du premier épisode, mais pas grisés au delà du raisonnable, les texans de Gearbox Software ont su gérer au mieux le développement de leur licence prometteuse. Plus varié, plus drôle, plus agréable et toujours aussi défoulant, Borderlands 2 s'impose comme un incontournable de cette rentrée 2012. Si le jeu n'en gardait pas sous le coude en vue des nombreux contenus téléchargeables déjà prévus, ce serait encore mieux... Mais ne boudons pas notre plaisir, le fun est bel et bien au rendez-vous !

If you like co-op it’s a no-brainer, buy it now. If you don’t like co-op maybe you should think more carefully. But I’d prefer to encourage you to buy it and learn to love co-op. In Borderlands 2 this should take you all of 5 minutes once you’ve got either 3 chums available or have used the excellent inbuilt matchmaking options to form a full party of 4.

It feels funny to say this about a 13-year-old developer with a portfolio of work that includes Half-Life and Counter-Strike expansions, stellar squad-based WWII shooter franchise Brothers in Arms, and the original Borderlands, but with Borderlands 2, Gearbox has arrived as a real blockbuster studio. Right from the toe-tapping "Short Change Hero" opening cinematic, Borderlands 2 stands out as Gearbox's magnum opus, and one of the most memorable and fun gaming rides I've ever been on.

Si les innovations sont présentes dans ce deuxième opus, elles sont au final minimes et ne permettent pas de faire évoluer drastiquement le concept du jeu, ni même le graphisme parfois à la juste limite dans les canons actuels... On regrettera aussi l'absence d'un mode arène, à la sortie du jeu, qui permettrait de joyeusement se taper dessus entre joueurs. Le reste des problèmes est minime et pourra sans doute se solder par une bonne MàJ. Il faut reconnaître que le jeu s’appuie sur des bases solides et une ambiance accrocheuse. Tant par son gameplay, que par son univers en monde ouvert et son trente sixième degré, Borderlands 2 est un jeu plus que jouissif et addictif à pratiquer, seul ou à plusieurs... Un must have du FPS moderne !

Och just den attityden, som bara kan beskrivas som "väldigt Borderlands", är vad som får mig och mina co-op-vänner att återvända till Pandora, om och om igen. Det är fantastiskt kul och vanebildande att äventyra bland dessa vidder, höra kulorna vina och knyta allt starkare band till min vault hunter, definierad av mina egna val. Gearbox spel kommer att ligga kvar i både mitt spelrum och mitt minne en lång tid framöver.

Additional visual customization options would make it better, and the occasional technical issue takes away from the experience, but overall this is an excellent shooter no one even remotely curious should overlook. Prepare to level. Prepare to loot. Prepare to get lost in the hilarious, bizarre and wonderful world of Pandora.

Assez frileux en termes d'innovations, Borderlands 2 n'aura cependant aucun mal à convaincre le public averti auquel il se destine. Bien réalisé, fluide, dynamique et absolument jubilatoire à plusieurs, ce titre irrévérencieux constitue actuellement un défouloir de premier choix dans la catégorie assez formatée des FPS contemporains. Vu son potentiel de rejouabilité et les nombreux DLC qui ne manqueront pas de débarquer dans les prochains mois, on n'est pas prêt de le lâcher.

Ich mochte im Vorgänger schon die Mischung aus interessanter Grafik, freier Welt, wilder Action und viel abgedrehtem Humor. In Teil 2 haben die Entwickler dieses Rezept perfektioniert, ohne sich allzu viel mit Innovation abzugeben. Bewährtes wurde noch besser gemacht. Bedeutet: Toller Humor, tolle Action, tolle Spielwelt. Dieser zweite Besuch von Pandora ist definitiv der bessere, verrücktere und lustigere! (Für Teil 3 dann bitte mal was Neues)

Difficile de bouder son plaisir : la variété de ses quêtes et son humour omniprésent font de Borderlands 2 un très agréable défouloir, surtout en co-op où il dévoile son véritable potentiel. Le jeu reste agréable à parcourir en solo même s'il ne s'agit pas là du meilleur moyen de récupérer le loot le plus épique. On regrettera des classes finalement un peu similaires, aux différences trop peu marquées. Pour le reste, c'est du bon.

Borderlands 2 is a better game in most of the ways that matter, but some of that is brought down by the familiarity of the experience. Perhaps some of that is on me and spending a couple hundred hours with the first game has rendered me resilient to some of the new game's charms, but as someone who went into Borderlands 2 with a sickness that I thought only more Borderlands could cure, I'm left feeling like I didn't receive a full dose this time around.

Und geschenkt wird Ihnen hier nichts. Doch das mindert den Spielspaß kaum: Dieses Spiel ist eine fantastische Wundertüte, in der Sie immer wieder etwas Neues entdecken. Vorsicht, erhöhte Suchtgefahr!

Nennen wir meine Beziehung zu Borderlands 2 mal eine leidenschaftliche Hassliebe. Warum muss ich nochmal durch diese Karte laufen, war das Respawnen der Gegner wirklich nötig, wieso darf ich nicht selber speichern? Aber dann mache ich leicht genervt doch weiter, weil die Herausforderung zu sehr reizt - und natürlich auch die Aussicht auf das nächste Super-Item. Balance-Holprigkeiten führen dazu, dass selbst eine „Auf sie mit Gebrüll!“-Klasse wie der Gunzerker enorm von einem guten Scharfschützengewehr profitiert, um die Übermacht aus der Ferne zu lichten. Borderlands 2 motiviert, weil die Ausrüstungsauswahl immer wieder überrascht, ich mir in Nebenmissionen Extra-Levels antrainieren kann und das Shooter-Spielgefühl gut und griffig ist. Bei der bemüht auf krass getrimmten Spielwelt überraschte mich zudem die Qualität der komischen Dialoge.

Но, несмотря на правильные шаги к совершенству, от Borderlands 2 устаешь. Она чересчур легка как шутер и недостаточно глубока как action/RPG, при том, что ближайшие конкуренты — Diablo 3 и Torchlight 2 – требуют меньше усилий. Стимул к повторному забегу в ожидании будущих DLC – почти нулевой. Финал уже известен, карты изучены вдоль и поперек, квесты выполнены… Посмотреть спецумение другого героя? На это и часа хватит. Послушать замечательный саундтрек? Проще купить альбом. А дойка «боссов» на уникальные вещи – удел маньяков.

Ultimately, the point is that this is a masterful game which understands its lot. It's a sort of super-healthy offspring from the original: genetically superior and displaying all the original game's standout traits with flair and confidence. It does do some things wrong. It's basically a known quantity. It's not exactly a rollercoaster all the way through. And you probably won't be all that surprised. Nevermind all that. It's really about the guns. The many, many guns. And sometimes that's enough.
