Risulterà, invece, molto difficile padroneggiare i controlli e barcamenarsi al meglio in un titolo di questo tipo per tutti i neofiti del genere o anche solo per coloro che decideranno di avvicinarsi a Fifa dopo anni di partite a Pes; per questi player ci vorrà molta pazienza per imparare i numerosi meccanismi di gioco e solo lavorando sodo all'interno delle arene di allenamento e dandosi da fare in partite amichevoli potranno riuscire a prendere una certa confidenza con il titolo.

Si on peut noter certaines améliorations de gameplay (les contrôles, les appels de balle), c'est le contenu qui a vraiment fait un pas en avant dans cet opus avec un mode "Jeux Techniques" addictif et de nombreux ajouts, que ce soit en Ultimate Team ou ailleurs. S'il faudra sûrement attendre la prochaine génération de consoles pour parler de révolution, FIFA 13 est tellement riche que vous n'avez pas fini d'en faire le tour.

Le succès de FIFA 13 ne doit rien au hasard. Année après année, EA Sports a su se remettre en question, poser ses jalons et étoffer son jeu, comme un grand club que l'on bâtit. L'expérience porte ses fruits avec un FIFA de gala totalement maître de son sujet, exceptionnel de fluidité, où toutes les actions les plus folles semblent permises. En affinant les dribbles de balle, en donnant plus d'impact aux frappes, en dopant l'I.A., la qualité du gameplay franchit encore un cap, pour atteindre celui de l'excellence. Si l'on y ajoute toutes les améliorations hors-terrain, du mode Carrière au suivi des championnats semaine après semaine, sans parler du mode en ligne étoffé et des options Move, cette version réalise un quasi sans-faute sur la question du contenu. Bien sûr, il reste encore quelques chantiers à reconsidérer, preuve que le jeu est encore perfectible. Mais rendons d'abord hommage à FIFA 13, une édition qui incarne pleinement le football "nouvelle génération".

Hinzu kommt ein Online-Modus, der mit all seinen Möglichkeiten und Modi seinesgleichen sucht sowie eine faszinierende Anbindung an die Bundesliga: Es gibt Kommentare mit aktuellem Bezug sowie reale Matchbedingungen. Es ist gut, dass Electronic Arts weiter Richtung Simulation entwickelt und auch Feinheiten wie das Leben an der Außenlinie verbessert. Aber der inhaltliche Schritt von FIFA 11 zu FIFA 12 war größer, denn das „Tactical Defending“ verlangte eine Umstellung der Spielweise - diesmal hat man sich schnell daran gewöhnt. Der Aufbau ist zwar etwas unberechenbarer und vor allem die Zweikämpfe wirken harmonischer, aber man vermisst als Gegengewicht zur sehr starken Abwehr eine Art „Creative Offensive“, die einem auch vorne mehr individuelle Möglichkeiten bei Dribblings und Ballannahmen beschert.

Overall: EA made some nice enhancements to this year´s title with small things like the skill games, international team call-ups in Career Mode, and the EA Football Club Store. The two big additions “Smart A.I.” and First Touch Control really improve the gameplay in a positive way too. However, the fact that there are still glitches in the Player Impact Engine that can lose you a game and that online play is completely different than offline play is quite staggering. That´s why I am just gonna say this, it is a very good game and people that mostly buy FIFA to do Ultimate Team and Career Mode should get this because even Ultimate Team has gotten Head to Head Seasons this year. People that only play online might want to rent this and spend the 10 bucks for the Online Pass to try it out and see if they like it first before plopping down 60 dollars.

FIFA 13 is a blast to play. It's not a revolutionary transformation for the series, but it does a fine job nipping and tucking many of the nascent features that FIFA 12 introduced. There are some annoyances--the physics engine feels like it's been overly tinkered, and the shortcomings of career mode's become apparent when you step out of Europe's top leagues. However, it succeeds at one key task that it sets out to do: render FIFA 12 obsolete. You can wear last year's jersey, but you won't want to play last year's game any longer.

While the skill games are an excellent addition--barring some throwaway Move implementation that lets you aim passes passes and paint runs for teammates using the Move Controller--they're also the only major one. FIFA 13 is mostly a collection of subtle tweaks and ideas that, while an improvement, aren't all that essential, particularly for casual players. And there's no getting away from the fact that PES has made serious strides in its gameplay this year, offering up a very credible alternative to EA's footballing juggernaut. But until PES can get the rest of its act together, FIFA Soccer 13 remains the best football game on the market--beautifully presented, in-depth, and a hell of a lot of fun.
