Nights is a game with a deservedly strong cult following, thanks in no small part to its gorgeous art and overflowing charm. Even with the relative linearity, it’s easy to get lost in the game’s world. It’s a short game, but a very replayable one. If you missed it the first time, now’s the time to jump in. If you’re an old fan, go in with an open mind about the controls and appreciate the opportunity to relive those fond memories.

Der Umfang ist gering, die Steuerung gewöhnungsbedürftig und so etwas wie ein Tutorial, welches durchaus hilfreich wäre, sucht man vergebens. Stattdessen muss man sich durch die, im InGame enthaltene, Bedienungsanleitung lesen um auch nur eine Spur von Verständnis zum Spiel selbst zu bekommen. Und verdammt nochmal, es wäre nicht ein Sega Klassiker, wenn er nicht trotz allem immer wieder an die Konsole fesseln würde! NiGHTS into Dreams… ist mal was anderes, gewöhnungsbedürftig, aber erfrischend. Optisch farbenfroh, verspielt und musikalisch ein Ohrwurm-Garant. Man muss wissen auf was man sich einlässt, sonst könnte man eventuell enttäuscht aus diesem Spiel gehen. Wer sich aber die Zeit nimmt und sich auf das eigenwillige Prinzip einstellen kann, der wird mit einem Titel belohnt, welcher den Titel des Klassikers nicht umsonst trägt.

As a Saturn game, NiGHTS into Dreams under-delivered. Sixteen years later it's easy to see why, but that shouldn't keep you from playing through this bizarre dreamscape. Just be ready for some frustrating boss fights and linear flying stages!

Nights : Into Dreams... a beau avoir marqué toute une époque, il ne passionnera probablement guère les foules de nos jours. Ses graphismes comme son gameplay ont mal vieilli et ne conviennent plus du tout au public actuel. A moins d'être un fan inconditionnel du soft, on évitera de le télécharger sans l'avoir essayé au préalable.
