F1 2011 récite avec efficacité une leçon faite de réalisme et d'accessibilité. Complet et vraiment fun, cet épisode, même s'il ne sera plus actuel d'ici quelques semaines, a de quoi passionner les joueurs nomades fans de la discipline. Un peu bridé par un mode Carrière un peu light, F1 2011 demeure une valeur sûre, pour les amateurs de parties solos ou multijoueurs.

F1 2011 is the only true 'sim' racing title on the Vita thus far, and it plays the game safe. The game is careful to not do more than it should -- I'd like to call the game a careful port of it's console brother. With that in mind, if you are a gear head and want something to satisfy your realism bones, F1 is probably your only good answer for now on the Vita. But the game is simply good and doesn't even dare go beyond that, but for many that's going to be just fine.

It's a fun racing game and the best-looking handheld racer yet seen, but while fans of the sport will love it for being so pretty and carrying all the tracks and drivers from last year's season, fans of Codies' other racing games may feel a little disappointed at the lack of premium-quality high-level racing action. Gamers with more interest in the spectacle of F1 than actually being good at driving will probably like this very much. And at least the good points bode very well for the next one.

F1 2011 ist das bislang beste Rennspiel auf der PS Vita und sieht auch ansprechend aus. Der große Umfang und die motivierende Karriere, samt des spaßigen Challenge-Modus sind die großen Pluspunkte des Spiels. Leider kränkelt der Titel von Sumo Digital aber auch an einigen Stellen. Die größten Schwächen liegen an der insgesamt nicht optimalen K.I. und Formel 1 Fans werden sicherlich auch an der schwammigen Fahrzeugphysik zu meckern haben. Lernt man aber mit den Mängeln zu leben ist F1 2011 das bislang beste Formel 1 Spiel im mobilen Bereich und kann über lange Zeit motivieren!

F1 2011 macht auf der Vita eine bessere Figur als bei der verkorksten 3DS-Premiere: Die Bildrate ist auf Sonys Handheld deutlich flüssiger und die Boliden bieten mehr Details, während die groben Kulissen sich näher am niedrigen Niveau von Nintendos Handheld bewegen. Inhaltlich ist der Rennzirkus auf beiden mobilen Plattformen nahezu identisch: Die Karriere ist abgespeckt, das Schadensmodell enttäuschend, die Fahrphysik zu simpel und die KI eine Zumutung, auch wenn sie hier weniger Totalausfälle produziert als auf dem 3DS. Trotzdem: F1 2011 ist auch auf der Vita weit davon entfernt, ein gutes Rennspiel zu sein! Sumo Digital hätte sich besser an der PS3-Version orientiert anstatt die 3DS-Fassung als Basis zu nehmen. So hätte man vielleicht auch eine Verknüpfung zwischen beiden Geräten realisieren können, doch ist das nur eine von vielen Chancen, die man ungenutzt lässt. Bleibt zu hoffen, dass man aus den Fehlern lernt und sich bei F1 2012 mehr Mühe bei den Handheld-Umsetzungen gibt...

F1 fans will be drawn in by the licensed racers and circuits from the 2011 Formula 1 season, the idea of using the DRS rear-wing control, and KERS boosting abilities. They may even be entranced by the depth of the career mode or the number of race options both online and off. But when it comes down to the presentation -- endless menus, muted graphics, and the races themselves -- many will lose interest in F1 2011 very quickly.

Dat de Vita-versie zo dicht aanleunt bij de consoleversie maakt echter ook dat de titel weinig bestaansreden heeft. De beste F1-ervaring vind je nog steeds op console of pc aan een gelijkaardige of zelfs lagere prijs.
