Frankly, it’s a minor miracle this game is even on Steam, given how apathetic Capcom has been in the past. Not only is it on the PC platform, but that it actually works well, is an even better surprise. True, it is a no-frills port, no new characters or modes or anything, but it is still done extremely well and for platform with not a ton of fighting games on it, this is an easy buy.

Some people are complaining that the new characters and stages should’ve been released as DLC characters, but at $5 a pop (the price for Jill Valentine and Shuma Gorath), purchasing all the characters separately ALONE would’ve cost gamers $60. Compare that to Ultimate Marvel’s modest $40 price tag, and you’ve got a worthy upgraded version of everyone’s favorite fighting game. Too soon? Not soon enough, I say.

The game is more balanced and the new playable characters are a nice addition to the game. Mais également les amateurs de jeux de combat en 2D qui trouveront ici un titre décomplexé et faisant la part belle aux combos dévastateurs qui viendront saturer l'écran de couleurs acidulées. Riche en contenu et plus profond qu'il n'y paraît de prime abord, Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 est le jeu de combat parfait pour passer les fêtes de fin d'année en toute sérénité.

Es el mismo juego pero depurado y ampliado. Quizás no resulte ser una gran opción si se dispone de la anterior entrega, pero como juego de lucha resulta muy divertido, tiene una cantidad impresionante de material que desbloquear y un catálogo de personajes (en líneas generales) de primera fila. Encima sale a precio reducido y dispone de un robusto multijugador en línea en el que conoceremos el significado de la palabra sufrimiento: rebotar por todo el escenario como la bola de un pinball es lo más normal del mundo. Hay mucho nivel y mucho intenso que abusa de los tres movimientos que se sabe de memoria, pero no deja de ser divertido cuando por fin podemos responder con nuestros propios argumentos. Un gran juego que encandilará a los amantes de la lucha pero que dejará con el morro torcido a los propietarios de la primera versión. Excelsior.

But for fans like me who already sank hours into the original version, this "Ultimate" edition feels severely lacking and getting to play as a few more of our favorite characters is a small comfort when stacked against the still noticeable lack of content.

If you skipped out on Marvel vs. Capcom 3 earlier this year or simply heard about the Ultimate version and opted to wait it out, you’ll find a lot to love in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The added characters round out the roster very nicely, bolstering the full lineup to potentially fifty. However, if you’re looking for something more than added characters and stages, UMvC3 doesn’t add much in the way of new features and modes, making the forty dollar price tag and retail-only package a little hard to swallow.

Avec cette version portable de Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, la petite Vita nous prouve qu'elle en a assez dans le ventre pour nous proposer des jeux de combat de qualité. El género de la lucha comienza de forma tremenda en PS Vita, con toda la calidad de la versión de sobremesa volcada a la pequeña consola sin perderse nada en el camino. Cierto es que las novedades respecto a la versión original no son muy atrayentes y nos hubiese gustado alguna modalidad de juego adicional o nuevos personajes, pero con lo que hay sobra. Claro que los jugadores que han pasado muchas horas con el juego echarán de menos estas novedades que comentamos y les parecerá insuficiente grabar los videos o utilizar la consola como mando de la versión portátil. Eso no quita para que estemos ante una conversión ejemplar que asegura muchas horas de diversión y que augura un gran futuro a la nueva portátil. Y en el horizonte ya asoma Street Fighter x Tekken.

Alas, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, your time is spent. We had some fun times--remember when Sentinel was steamrolling everyone?--but now it's over. Developer Capcom has dug you an early grave to make way for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, the $40 follow-up that, for some, has come much too soon. Regardless of how you feel, the game is here, and it is the superior version, with new characters, stages, and rebalanced gameplay. Of course, it's also just as challenging as before and can break your heart with a single combo. It's mean, it's flashy, but most importantly, it's Marvel, baby!

Ein beeindruckender Einstand für die Vita: Noch nie sah mobiles Gekloppe so toll aus! Bereits auf den Konsolen überzeugte das Beat-em-Up mit wahnwitziger Action und exzellenter Kulisse. Beides findet sich auch hier wieder - allerdings mit Einschränkungen. Die Präsentation ist super, aber man merkt, dass an vielen Ecken und Enden Details gespart werden mussten, um die saubere Framerate aufrecht zu erhalten - sehr schade, denn die wuselige Hintergrundaktivität war immer sehr ansehnlich. Und beim spielerischen Inhalt hat man sich, ähnlich wie die Entwickler von Tekken 3D, auf das absolut Notwendige beschränkt. Nichtsdestotrotz bekommt das Spiel auch aufgrund des kolossalen Kaders eine klare Empfehlung für Vita-Prügler!

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 es una buena revisión del crossover de Capcom, de eso no hay duda. Tenemos doce nuevos personajes, ocho nuevos escenarios, cambios sustanciales y de todo tipo (nuevos movimientos, cambios de vida, propiedades de ataques modificados, eliminación de ataques abusivos…) en la gran mayoría de luchadores para intentar equilibrar el juego y un modo online que promete mejorar el rendimiento de las partidas y permite visualizar en modo espectador los combates de nuestros rivales. Además, se han matizado algunas mecánicas como reducir la efectividad del X-Factor o eliminar algunos glitches presentes en según que circunstancias. Todo ello, perfecto. El problema: Parte la comunidad de Marvel vs Capcom 3 solo nueve meses después de la salida del juego original, muchos de estos cambios deberían ser exigibles vía parche para aquellos compradores del mes de febrero y sigue faltando -a falta de DLCs anunciados- más variedad en lo que el modo para un jugador se refiere.

No accusations of double dipping this time around, as Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 hits the Vita with a clear conscience as it's the first MvC game on the platform. What you'll find here is pretty much the exact same console game you played last fall, with very few constraints from the Vita's hardware and a new Touch mode that uses the system's touchscreen. While this new addition isn't a great one, this is still great fighter that manages to work extremely well on the platform.

Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 es una gran apuesta para estrenar PS Vita, sobre todo si no tenemos el juego en las consolas sobremesa. Se trata de un juego que mantiene perfectamente lo que vimos en las consolas mayores: diversión, dinamismo y un control que se adapta a las bondades de PS Vita. Además, llega con novedades como el modo repetición o la ya inclusión del modo Galactus. Las compatibilidades con Playstation 3, transferencia de DLC y usarlo como control, y el apartado técnico donde han conseguido respetar la obra original y mostrar el potencial de Vita, son otras de sus bondades. Por desgracia, el control táctil no pasa de ser una anécdota que no consigue sustituir el tipo de control más tradicional, y emulando a Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 de consolas, se puede echar en falta algunos modos de juego más para quien juegue en solitario.

During our play sessions, online play did have some hiccups. Part of this was the aforementioned slowdown during hypercombos, but at other times, it was simply lag. Few games went by completely free of lag; however, what lag we did encounter was brief and didn't significantly detract from the experience. And just like on consoles, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the Vita may feel inviting at first, but when you sink a little deeper, you discover a game in which victory and defeat hinge on a fine line. It's a high-risk, high-reward system that buries you in a brightly colored light show at the slightest misstep. This game makes a graceful transition to the handheld space while retaining everything from the console version.

But is it worth it? In a word, yes. The new modes and characters offer more than enough value, and anyone who loves to kill hours fiddling around in Training mode will be in hog heaven with so flexible a system. You can whine all you like about how it should have been DLC, or how it's just the same game again, but that's not going to help you see Phoenix Wright put Nemesis on trial. Which, by the way, is awesome.
